If Philip Rivers is being asked, who hasn't played, not even on a practice squad, to come in and start an NFL game at the end of the season, maybe, potentially. I still think Brett Rippon ends up getting the call if Leonard isn't there. But what does this say about quarterbacking in the National Football League, that they got to turn to a guy who's almost 45 years old and, and it isn't even close to, I mean, is he in game shape, Mark? Like this is a crazy story here. It's really not. You know what it says? It says that teams who do it right, don't give a rip about their backup quarterback. Because once you lose your starter, your season is dead in the water. That's the way I believe it should be approached. Teams who invest in their backup as if to say it's important, no, it's not. I mean, if your season goes off the rails cause your starter gets injured to the length that Daniel Jones gets injured, guess what? Your season's done. I mean, I saw it here in Atlanta. Oh, Michael Pennox went down and $40 million Kirk Cousins coming off the bench. The offense hasn't gotten any better. Why? Because there are only 32 guys good enough to start in the league, probably only 20 guys good enough to start in the league. The final 12 are questionable. If you don't have one of those 20 guys, getting a backup that's equally as good isn't gonna help you. So, I have no problem with the Colts investing 0 in their backup. This is the reality of the NFL. If you lose a top 20 starter in the NFL, your season is going to go off the rails. The Nick Foles, Jeff Hostettler things are one-offs that happen once every 30, 40 years, and there's a reason for that, because it's Really hard to make that happen. There's a reason these guys are backups and not starters. Can you catch lightning in a bottle with Philip Rivers? Maybe, sure you can. But you could also catch lightning in a bottle with Riley Leonard or somebody else for that matter. So, um, I, I don't think this is as, as crazy as people think. I mean, it's crazy on the surface to go get Philip Rivers, but again, whether it's Philip Rivers or somebody else, the Colts season is dead. I think they lose every game from here on out. I agree. I think they're, they're done. 2. By the way, they're 22 to 1 now to win the division. They were the favorites two weeks ago overwhelmingly. Right now, it's Jacksonville-165. Uh, but Mark Houston's been coming on, especially their defense is playing great football. Uh, is Houston or Jacksonville dangerous at all in, in a postseason scenario? I, I know that Jacksonville maybe has more upside to go deeper, but Houston is just doing it on the strength of their defense. That's been plenty over the last month. Yeah, I don't think Jacksonville's dangerous. I think Houston is. I think that defense can negate anyone and anything, and if somehow they can get some semblance of consistency on offense and Uh, you know, do something to actually build a lead, they'd be nearly unbeatable. Uh, and I don't know that they will be able to fix the offense, but guess what? In a 60-minute game against the Houston Texans, you're gonna pay for it, uh, physically, uh, cause they're gonna beat you up for a full 60 minutes and you're gonna leave that game sore even if you can win it. But yes, I think the Texans will be a big problem, uh, when they get in the postseason.
