Raiders vs. 49ers Picks: Over 51.5 and Raiders +9.5

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From NFL Pro Football Today

Raiders-49ers Over and Las Vegas Cover Both in Play

The San Francisco 49ers return from their bye to face the Las Vegas Raiders. San Francisco appears healthier, with Christian McCaffrey expected to play, but Mike Evans remains out.

The Raiders have one of the NFL’s best offenses this season, while Kirk Cousins has statistically been one of the league’s best quarterbacks. Las Vegas has also been the NFL’s best betting team on the over, surpassing the total in six consecutive games.

With the total at 51.5, the over is the preferred play. The Raiders getting 9.5 points is also in consideration because their offense can score enough to keep the game close.

There is some uncertainty in the Raiders’ backfield after Ashton Genty received only two carries last week. Mike Washington handled significant work, making him a potential flex option for fantasy lineups. Genty is viewed as more of a low-end RB2 this week.

Genty could also be a buy-low opportunity after last week. Several upcoming Las Vegas matchups could produce negative game scripts against strong teams and defenses. Those situations may suit Genty because of his ability to catch the football and operate in space. Washington has done more of his damage between the tackles.

San Francisco still needs other players to step up. Stribbling does not appear likely to return as quickly as hoped, while Evans may remain unavailable next week. McCaffrey is dealing with bone injuries, and the 49ers also have Kaylen Black and George Kittle, but the wide receiver group needs more help with Kirk and Evans unavailable.

DeMarcus Robinson enters the day as San Francisco’s top receiver. That lack of depth is another reason the Raiders could stay within 9.5 points while helping push the game over 51.5.
