Ravens vs. Jaguars Props: Derrick Henry & Mark Andrews Tonight

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Game Time Decisions

Player Props Take Priority in a Difficult Baltimore Matchup

Player props are probably the best approach tonight. For Jacksonville’s players, both overs and unders are worth examining. The situation looks difficult for the young quarterback.

If anyone on Baltimore is going to lead the way, it may have to be Derrick Henry. He could be the player who sets up the offense, while Andrews is another option. His receiving total of 18.5 yards is particularly interesting because one 20-yard catch would be enough to go over. The reception total is less appealing, but a line such as two catches for 21 yards appears possible.

The usual narrative is that a backup quarterback will immediately look for the tight end. That did not happen when the backup entered the last game. Instead, he repeatedly threw deep and toward the outside, almost as though he were trying to get back into the game with a 50-yard touchdown on every down.

Derrick Henry’s rushing attempts are also worth considering. A performance of 21 carries for 56 yards would not be surprising. Hill could become involved as well, and it would not be shocking to see Baltimore rely heavily on direct rushing concepts from the opening play.

There is no need to force a side simply because this is the only Thursday game. A player prop can offer a better opportunity, with another NFL play available tomorrow.

There is also considerable uncertainty surrounding the quarterback. After entering against Buffalo last week, he played poorly. However, judging him entirely on that appearance would not be fair, especially with only three days before the next game and no full week of practice.

Other Ravens players will have to step up and deliver a major effort. Whether that approach works remains to be seen.
