Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From LatiNation Futbol Club

Young Talent Fuels Optimism for the United States, Mexico and the 2027 Women’s World Cup

The United States is going through its own process under Pochettino, who has re-signed through 2030. Despite controversy surrounding Diego Luna not being called up and the public back-and-forth between Pulisic and Pochettino, the team has played well.

The United States has introduced several 16-, 17- and 18-year-old players to the national team. Pochettino is not afraid to put youngsters on the field, while Rafael Marquez has taken a similar approach with Mexico. Rather than focusing only on immediate results, Marquez has shown a willingness to play young talent.

There is excitement around both teams and the players they are developing. The United States has a strong group emerging, and Mexico and the USA could be two very strong teams at the 2030 World Cup.

Attention also turns to Brazil for the 2027 Women’s World Cup. The tournament could be transformational for the women’s game as it continues to receive greater attention. Along with Brazil and Spain, emerging teams such as China and Mexico could make the competition especially exciting, with Mexico currently playing at an incredible level.
