5 Can’t-Miss College Football Games to Watch in Week 11

#1 - #3 Michigan (-5) @ #10 Penn State (12:00/FOX)
Some games are intriguing because of what we know. Others because of what we don’t know. Will Jim Harbaugh be on the sidelines come Saturday? How good is Michigan? They’ve dominated every opponent so far but haven’t been tested by anyone of quality. Same for J.J McCarthy. Even if they are, will they be able to play in the B1G Championship Game or the CFP? How good is Penn State? They dominated most opponents but lost in their toughest test of the season at Ohio State. Will they plan better against the Wolverines? Was last week’s performance against Maryland a sign of improvement, or was it just the Terps Terping? Emotions will be high as both sides are talented and have much on the line.
#5 - USC (+16.5) @ #6 Oregon (10:30/FOX)
I don’t know about you, but I love watching Caleb Williams play. Sure, he’s not having the season he had a year ago. Still, Williams is as entertaining a player to watch in college football. Adding to the intrigue is the first game without fired defensive coordinator Alex Grinch. Will it make a difference, or is it too little, too late? As for Oregon, the highest-ranked one-loss team in the country, this is a MUST win. As Greg McElroy pointed out, the Ducks have just one quality win over an offensively-limited Utah team. Are they really that good? Beating the Trojans would be their second-best win.
#4 - Miami (+14) @ Florida State (3:30/ABC)
While this isn’t a vintage Miami-Florida State clash, it’s one of the better matchups between the hated rivals. The last time either team was ranked going into this game was 2020, the COVID season. Before that, it was 2018 when Miami was ranked No. 17. The last time either team was undefeated this late in the season was 2014, when No. 2 Florida State survived unranked Miami 30-26. Both teams have solid defenses, and the game will come down to the quarterback play. Jordan Travis has 19 TD passes to just 2 INTs, with seven scores on the ground. Tyler Van Dyke has 16 TD passes to 11 INTs, with 10 picks coming in the past four games (with only five TDs).
#3 - #18 Utah (+9.5) @ #5 Washington (3:30/FOX)
The Pac-12 leader Washington takes on the two-time defending champion Utah. The Huskies haven’t won a game comfortably since September. You keep playing with fire, and eventually, you’ll get burned. Is this the week? A loss for Washington would eliminate any margin for error in the season’s final two weeks (at Oregon State & vs. Washington State). A loss for Utah would eliminate any slim chance of returning to the Pac-12 Championship Game. I’m interested to see how Washington’s defense responds and how Michael Penix Jr. performs.
#2 - #9 Ole Miss (+10.5) @ #2 Georgia (7:00/ESPN)
Ole Miss is the highest-ranked team on Georgia’s schedule, currently and on game day. How good are the Rebels? We’re not sure. Alabama held them to 10 points, and they scored 55 points on LSU, which everyone looks good against. They have weapons. Jaxson Dart averages 10.1 yards per pass, Tre Harris averages 19.7 yards per catch, and Quinshon Judkins is a load. Mizzou had much success running against the Dawgs last week, so expect a heavy dose of Judkins. On the flip side, could we see the return of Brock Bowers? Either way, expect Ladd McConkey (13 receptions, 230 yards in the past two weeks) to play a significant role.
