Top 5 Title Odds for the 2023-24 Premier League Season

After three months of waiting, the Premier League season has finally arrived. Burnley and Manchester City will kick things off on Friday as England’s top clubs embark on a nine-month soccer journey.

Ahead of the campaign, we discuss the title odds for each of the big six clubs in the league and if we see value in their respective prices.

EPL Previews: Arsenal | ChelseaLiverpool | Manchester City |  Manchester United | Tottenham

1. Manchester City (-150)

Despite City entering the season as the clear favorite, we can’t advise this bet at such steep odds. Having a sportsbook hold your money for nine months on a bet that pays out so little will almost always be a sub-optimal wager. That being said, it would be a shock for Manchester City not to at least be in the race for nearly the entire season in 2023-24.

2. Arsenal (+450)

The odds believe Arsenal are City’s biggest title challenger, and we wholeheartedly agree. Based on the moves made by Arsenal and the lack of offseason moves from City, we believe the gap is much closer than this price indicates. The Gunners to win this year’s Premier League is one of our favorite bets this season.

3. Liverpool (+800)

This price could shorten the most within the first month or two of the season. While surefire talents like Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold will undoubtedly deliver, it will be on Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Alexis Mac Allister to help this team make a title charge. If they look comfortable early, this number will shorten quickly, and you’ll have a golden ticket.

4. Manchester United (+1000)

It’s starting to feel like United are right there. The Red Devils seem to have something brewing under manager Erik ten Hag, finishing third in 2022-23 and making their return to Champions League play. There are still questions about the team’s backline and ability to string together 90 minutes of defending, but the attack is one of Europe’s best. We find this price fair, but United are more than live to be in a title race this season.

5. Chelsea (+1200)

If a big six club did not assemble this squad, we don’t believe they’d be priced anywhere near +1200. The Blues seem to be transitioning and may struggle to start this campaign. Manager Mauricio Pochettino still seems to be finding his footing at the club, and it could take him a few months to settle on a starting XI that he feels confident in. This isn’t the year to be backing Chelsea to pull off a Premier League title.
