Let's start off with our sports betting, uh, hot topic of the day. We'll start off with the NBA. Looks like they are following suit with Major League Baseball, which is basically maxing amount the prop bets that you can make on unders in the NBA. So that's what's coming here, folks. You're not gonna be able to bet unders for extreme amounts of money. They're implementing a change in the NBA by reporting injury news and requiring teams to submit an injury report on. Game days between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. It's also implementing the update of public injury reports every 15 minutes on NBA.com as opposed to 1 hour. So basically, if you're thinking of doing something salacious in the future with betting props for hundreds of thousands of dollars on the unders, uh, that's going away, and that's a good thing too, I think. All right, uh, how about live golf? Live golf, a lot of folks are predicting this is gonna be the final year of live. Golf. It looks like it was the final year of live golf for Brooks Koepka. He's done. He has decided that he's stepping away and he's going to re-engage with the PGA Tour. He had 1 year left on his contract, which was worth more than $100 million. Uh, Koepka seemingly has had enough, uh, hasn't, hasn't said, by the way, officially that he's going back to the PGA Tour, but I'll say it for him, you know, that's what is coming. All right, in the NFL coming up this week. Wow, this is the Christmas present for those of you playing against the Vikings' defense. Unfortunately, it looks like you can play that defense against the Vikings because JJ McCarthy, who wasn't great to begin with, is going to pave the way by missing some time with a fractured hand to Max Brosm. That is right. Brosm makes yet another start. He had one of the worst. Starts in the history of the NFL just a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, this is what the Vikings are down to, and they're big underdogs this week too. Here's Kevin O'Connell on having to make this change. Um, to give you guys an update, uh, JJ McCarthy, uh, we did continue to get further imaging, uh, beyond the initial X-ray and, uh, beyond even the initial MRI. I got some further imaging. And it was discovered he does have a very, very small hairline fracture that was discovered in his hand. We are not expecting to have him this week. I do not think this is anything that will require surgery. Um, you know, similar kind of recovery is kind of similar to a bone bruise, um, but obviously there is a small hairline fracture in there, um, and we'll keep you guys posted about his availability next week. Said it after the game. Been really, really happy and proud of the way JJ through the kind of final stands of the season here, has, has really, really took some big steps and grown, and it's been a blast, you know, being with him every day and kind of being along that ride with him, although we've lost, you know, time to continue that throughout the season and and and we're you know experiencing it again here on a fast opportunity type short week that doesn't take away from the growth we've seen. Certainly, it's not what the NFL wanted, but all 3 games on Christmas Day have point spreads of 7.5 or more, including the game between the Lions and Vikings tomorrow. It's just the schedule. What can we do? Meanwhile, Justin Herbert surging toward another playoff appearance did not go well for him the last time he saw the Houston Texans, of course, in the playoffs. Herbert certainly remembers that, doesn't want to throw 4 picks again, I would assume. Critical of yourself, like, have you heard anything? I don't know about yourself since then or or when you watched that game back like things you've heard specifically from how that game went. I sure hope so, um. I think, yeah, I think those are games that, uh, yeah, as hard as they are to watch you, you gotta learn from them and, and, uh, you know, like we, I was talking to Popper about all the turnovers of, um, you watch them individually and and see, you know what went wrong on this play, what you could have done differently, and, um, it's just part of the game, uh, unfortunately it, it really didn't go our way and, um, there's nothing I can do now to change that and so it's more so of what can you learn from it, how can you move forward, um, and give everything you can to, to put this team in a into a position to win. Meanwhile, it looks like the Packers could have Jordan Love back off a concussion. He did participate in a walkthrough with the Packers. We'll see if he can play this week. Also, some question as to whether or not George Kittle will be able to play on Sunday night. Kittle has a mid to low ankle sprain. He has helped me to my fantasy football championship. If he can't go, I'm gonna have to play backup, Jake. Tanja, not that anybody cares out there, but that's what I'm doing. Also, for those of you in the fantasy football championship with Brock Bowers, he was ruled out for the rest of the season. He's had a bunch of injuries this year. The Raiders are obviously going nowhere. It's a really tough one for I know a lot of you out there. Uh, no Bowers for the Raiders moving forward. We'll see him again next year. Had a, a great season when he played. OK. Last night in the Frisco Bowl, biggest, big surprise to me, UNLV went down, they lost to Ohio 17 to 10. So that was one final yesterday. Also, Western Kentucky wins the New Orleans Bowl 27 to 16 over Southern Miss, and Louisville just beat out Toledo in the Boca Raton Bowl, 27 to 22, an annual tradition on Christmas Eve tonight. It is the Hawaii Bowl. The Warriors are 1.5 points. Favorites against Cal. It is the only sporting event on the board tonight. In the NBA last night, the Spurs beat the Thunder again. How about this? Maybe this is the team that could take them out in the playoffs. We'll see. 130 to 110. Stefan Cassel had 24 points. He also knocked down 3-pointers. He hit 4 of 6. So that was the impressive stat there. Congrats to Mitch Johnson, who seems to have found the OKC kryptonite thus far. I think in the second half specifically, you really saw some of our early passes that in the half court created our pace. They do a great job of putting multiple bodies in front of the basketball and guarding the paint. And if you try to over dribble or split their multiple defenders, typically it's, it's not a great outcome. And I thought we did a good job in the second half, trusting. To just let the ball find the open man and let that basketball continue to chase whoever was open until they had an opportunity to hopefully have a high percentage shot. Yeah, uh. The like the game. The game is gonna look different every night like. And, and for me, I just never like to make the excuse of like. Makes and misses being the outcome. Uh, we've won games where teams have shot well above what they're expected. And we've lost games where we shot above what we expected, so it's like. We, especially this basketball group and the guys on this roster that I'm confident in, we know how to win a game no matter what the makes and misses looks like, um, and getting back to that will help us regardless of. Who's hot and who's not. In the end, over the last week, we learned the Thunder will not win 80 games in the NBA this season. The Dallas Mavericks suited up 9 players last night against the Denver Nuggets and somehow beat them. How about this? Cooper Flagg had 33 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. The Nuggets came back big in the end, but it was the victory for Dallas, digging deep and Jason Kidd saying playing a limited squad cause that's all he had. Uh, the whole roster, um, because we have people sick, people hurt, next man up. Um, guys came in and executed the game plan. Um, the ball started to fall for us. I understand we know Denver is one of the best teams in the league and they made a run, and we just, we've been in so many close games here, um, and just the experience of understanding what we need to do, do late and we executed and the ball fell our way. Not really. I mean, back to backs, usually we're, you know, we've been really good the last couple of years with it. Um, the, the first time I thought our energy was bad was when the game started. You know, the guys were in good spirits before the game. Uh, you, you always ask the, you know, the workout guys how guys are before and they do their warm-ups and all that, and they said everybody was good, so. Um, you know, it just was a night where we didn't have it early. Uh, it's the 2nd time, uh, this season we've had that. Uh, Atlanta was the other one, and I, and this one was similar that we came back, gave ourselves a chance to win, but, you know, if you put yourself in that situation, you have to play so hard to get back into the game, uh, we just didn't have enough, you know, losing the game by 1.
