5. Jon Rahm (Spain)
Jon Rahm feels most likely among the LIV player pool to make some noise in Paris this weekend after coming fresh off a win at LIV Golf UK this past weekend. With two major victories in his career, he has the big tournament composure and capability to take home gold at the Summer Olympics. He was emotional over the weekend with his victory in England, so it's clear that there is still plenty of motivation for a man who has donned the green jacket to go out there this weekend and capture gold for Spain.
1. Scottie Scheffler (USA)
While Xander Schauffele has made a run at the crown after triumphing at two different majors this season, it's still difficult to say anyone other than Scottie Scheffler is the best in the world right now. With six PGA Tour wins to his name this season alone, Scheffler's domination has brought his betting odds to heights we haven't seen since Tiger Woods was in his prime in the 2000's. Good luck laying a price as short as +350 this weekend ahead of the action at the Summer Olympics.
2. Xander Schauffele (USA)
Just a few short months ago, the question was whether Xander Schauffele could win a major championship. With eight top-ten finishes across 27 major starts entering this calendar year, it felt like the time was now or never for Schauffele to get over the hump and capture a major. It happened twice in the span of two months for Schauffele, who captured both the PGA Championship and The Open Championship this season. He now hopes to defend the gold medal he took home from the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
3. Rory McIlroy (Ireland)
The wait for Rory McIlroy's first major since 2014 will have to continue into 2025, but he is still playing at a high enough level to capture gold in Paris. McIlroy made the cut in three of four majors this season and has won every major tournament there is in golf besides the Masters and a gold medal at the Summer Olympics. He is certainly in good enough form to achieve that here, but the question remains whether he has the mental fortitude to get it done on Sunday afternoon at this stage of his career.
4. Collin Morikawa (USA)
It's been a while since Collin Morikawa's vintage performance. He took the golf world by storm by winning his first two majors in 2020 and 2021 at the PGA Championship and The Open. He has just one win on the PGA Tour over the past three years and is long overdue for a statement victory at an event. With ten top-ten finishes this season alone, can he put together four quality rounds to top the field this weekend?
