I did commit to OU. I committed OU when I was 12. Stop it, dude. You're 12 years old. What grade is that? I don't even know what grade that is. I think I was going into 7th grade. Golly, and, uh, OK, so I, I assume we hit puberty at this point. Uh, right after, yeah, I got some guys who had even some friends, uh, that I grew up with. I don't even know that it hit puberty, puberty at that point. That, that's, that's, that's one of the lucky parts is like I kind of, I grew into my build pretty early and I kind of learning how to hit it, you know, further early with the, you know, kind of builds I have. So that's about to say when you're on football visits to Oklahoma at 12 years old and you're sitting there on the sideline. You know, you got the coach right there next to you and then up up walks Dovian Sue and you're like, OK, all right, I'm, I'm down to go to Oklahoma to look like that. Exactly. It was, you know, and then that's, I, I committed that early cause first off, I just, there's nowhere else I wanted to go. I'm, you know, sooner born, sooner bred. My parents went there, played sports there. My grandpa played sports there, Grandma was a cheerleader. Like I just absolutely love OU and always have. So it didn't, it didn't matter if they're ranked. 150th they're they're ranked number one. Like I wanted to go to OU, but then I got very lucky having Coach Hibble there. He, uh, he joined the program. Did he recruit you too? He did, yeah. So he became head coach when I was 11, and that's when I started emailing him, you know, they, I don't know why, but I started emailing him like, hey, you know, Coach Hibel, saw that you're a new coach. I'm Brad Dalkey, I'm 11 years old and 6th grade. Here are my accomplishments. Here's how I do in tournaments, and I'm sure he was just rolling his eyes looking at the email, but then he finally, him and the assistant coach came out and watched me in a few events. And they saw something special in me, I guess, and, and I was playing well, but um they, they offered me, I went on an unofficial visit and went to the office and they offered me a scholarship right then and there. And obviously, they could do all that because you're not in high school yet. So right? Yeah, back then there was, there was like no rules on on how young you could there's obviously rules on uh I think it's when you get to like high school, it was a period. period of time where they couldn't talk to you like 9th and 10th grade until like the middle of your 10th grade year. So there may have been a time when you were committed to Oklahoma and then had like 2 years where you like technically couldn't talk to. There were there were rules on like them be able to talk to me, like text me, call me. I remember that initiate the call or something had to be like on a visit or on property or something like that. Yeah. But now, once I committed, they actually changed a lot of rules to where you can't even visit or anything until you're like 16 now. So I think I, I changed the recruiting landscape a little bit with golf, which is kind of, I mean, I guess that's kind of cool, but you know, hang, hang the banner. But uh, yeah, Coach Chile took a risk on me, and I, I was so lucky that he was a coach I committed to and, you know, that's the program I committed to because he ended up, I mean, in my opinion, being the best, he's the best college coach in the nation. He, you know, he, he's obviously, he was a 4 time All-American at Georgia. He's such a good golfer himself. He knows so much about the game. Yeah, he's also, he brings that kind of football mentality into golf a little bit, and um he makes you grind your butt off, he makes us compete a lot. And I, I truly think I, you know, wouldn't be as good of a golfer now, you know, if I didn't play for him for 4 years. So he, he was unbelievable and that's, it shows, I mean, the Oklahoma golf program now is, you know, up in the top ranks every single year and um he's done a fantastic job there. But I was very lucky committing, you know, to him and to that program, but Uh, and then junior golf, all the rest throughout just kind of kept playing AGGAs. Um, I was, you know, played on 5 Wyndham Cups. I was, uh, I think 5 cups, yeah, I actually broke, uh, broke Tiger's Wyndham Cup record for most points won in the Wyndham Cup.
