The Subway Series is back tonight, but we’ll take the train to Queens this time, where the New York Mets will host the cross-town New York Yankees. While the season has been going much better for the team in the Bronx despite their recent struggles, the Mets are roaming just under the .500 mark, having won nine of their last eleven games.
Tonight should be a fun battle, so we worked up an ultimate same-game parlay.
Valued at +800, let’s ride!

Leg 1: Yankees ML
The Yankees will have Gerrit Cole on the bump tonight, giving us no reason to go against them despite their recent struggles. Cole was solid as he knocked off the rust in his first outing of the season last week, pitching a solid effort against a hot Baltimore Orioles lineup. He should find himself with a much easier task ahead with the Mets’ offense, despite their recent success. David Peterson has been respectable on the mound for the Mets, but he’s a ground ball hitter, and the Yankees do pretty well when they can put the ball in play. Plus, we’ll expect a ton of Yankees fans to make the trip on the subway to this one.
Leg 2: Aaron Judge 2+ Total Bases
Aaron Judge has been roughly a .365 hitter across the past two months, and not only can we count on him to record a hit on nearly a nightly basis, but most of the time, they come in bunches or go out of the yard. We’ll look for him to record at least two total bases tonight, as we’re not worried about Peterson dominating him with strikeouts. If Judge can put the ball in play every at-bat, I’ll take my chances that he’ll get at least two total bases.
Leg 3: Anthony Volpe 1+ Hit
Anthony Volpe has had at least a single hit in 39 of his last 44 games, and he’ll have an optimal matchup tonight with Peterson being a lefty. What else is there to ask for?
Leg 4: J.D. Martinez 1+ Hit
Most of the Mets’ veteran hitters have not found much success against Cole in their careers, but I trust the current version of J.D. Martinez the most. He’s had a hit in 20 of his last 24 games and has been a .304 hitter in Citi Field this season. I’m comfortably rolling the dice here with him.
Leg 5: Francisco Alvarez 1+ Hit
Francisco Alvarez has only seen limited action this season thanks to a lengthy stint on the IL, but he’s recorded a hit in eight of eleven games since returning. However, he sports a .500 batting average across the last six games with five extra-base hits. While the matchup with Cole certainly isn’t ideal for Alvarez or any Mets’ hitter, we’re getting too great of a price on Alvarez to get a hit to pass it up.
