Zack Wheeler - Philadelphia Phillies
Zack Wheeler, who was the runner-up to Corbin Burnes in the 2021 NL Cy Young Award voting, continues to deliver powerful and durable performances for the Phillies. Currently, he ranks in the top five among NL pitchers in innings pitched (67 2/3), strikeouts (76), and fWAR (1.9). While he might not win the Cy Young Award if it were given out today, it's reasonable to believe he has the most staying power of anyone on the NL list.
NL Cy Young Odds: +340

Shota Imanaga - Chicago Cubs
It's interesting to compare Wheeler, who has thrown over 67 innings, with Shota Imanaga, who has thrown 53 2/3 innings. Despite the lower innings, Imanaga has been dominant on the mound, boasting a 5-0 record, a 0.84 ERA, and an impressive 493 ERA+.
To remain a contender in the Cy Young race, he'll need to handle a heavier workload as the season progresses. However, the 30-year-old can take comfort in likely securing the NL Rookie of the Year title in his first season since transitioning from Japan.
NL Cy Young Odds: +425
Ranger Suarez - Philadelphia Phillies
Ranger Suárez has elevated his game from being a solid No. 3 starter behind Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola to becoming an ace in his own right. He currently leads all starting pitchers with nine wins and boasts a league-best 0.819 FIP.
NL Cy Young Odds: +450

Chris Sale - Atlanta Braves
Healthy for the first time in nearly five years, Chris Sale has been outstanding for the Braves this season. The seven-time All-Star leads all of baseball with a 2.10 FIP and tops the National League in BB/9 (1.3), strikeout-to-walk ratio (8.67), and fWAR (2.2). Remaining healthy will be his biggest challenge, but if he can maintain his performance, he'll have a compelling narrative of career resurgence, especially in the absence of Spencer Strider.
NL Cy Young Odds: +600
Tyler Glasnow - Los Angeles Dodgers
Speaking of pitchers with injury histories who have managed to stay healthy in 2024, Tyler Glasnow has been exceptional in his first season with the Dodgers. The former Ray leads all of baseball with 87 strikeouts and ranks second among NL pitchers with a 2.45 FIP.
NL Cy Young Odds: +750
