Josh Naylor is the other big name right now, and everybody watching in the Pacific Northwest is saying, do not touch him, he's a Seattle Mariner, we love him. Is he Seattle or is he the field? I think, I think he's got to stay in Seattle, right? You've now got Kyle Riley on such a bargain contract and you have J-Rod under control for so long. There's no excuse not to spend. You, you're gonna have JP Crawford coming off the books and then you've got, uh, the heir apparent ready to go at shortstop. If you're worried about long-term, and this won't even be a long, long, long-term deal. It'll be 4 to 5 years. This is the spot where you can spend. And say, hey fans, look, we're spending, but you're still not clearing probably 9 figures, right? I think it's gonna be more 80, 90 million for for Josh Naylor. This is the spot where the, the Mariners can say, hey, see, look, we're, we're, we're big fish, we're spending, like, stop complaining, um, and still not have to, you know, go whale, whale hunt like that, this is the perfect spot to do that. So I, I think it's a no-brainer there, especially with where the team is at, and I think we, you look at, you know, they traded even some of their depth there with Lochle are going, you know, in that Eugenio Suarez deal. I think this is the clear cut option there. The only other thing that could make some sense, but again, it's just not really how they operate is if they said, OK, well, you know what? Nailer got a little bit expensive for us, but just, you know, I guess the market drove up higher than we thought. We'd rather just completely swing for the fences and go for moreriami, you'll probably want to be on the west coast. I don't see them doing that. So it seems like it's either nailer or a much lesser option, and I, I think that's why you just go all in on Naylor. In terms of the next wave, so Alonzo is by himself in tier one, I think Naylor is by himself in tier 2. After that, you look at the first base market, and there are some interesting names that we'll get to in a moment, right? Ryan O'Hearn, Carlos Santana, Luis Arrace, Goldschmidt, Reese Hoskins. But give me the TLDR on Kazuma Okamoto, and is he the 3rd best first baseman on the market? Well, so yeah, I guess if we're if we're considering Murakami third base, but I think like there's an instance where he could probably be playing some first base, I think he's obviously, you know, in that top tier. But Okamoto, I, I, I do think is is up there, you know, just because his skill set translates, I think is. Easily as, uh, some of the other power hitters we've seen in a while, like, just kind of jumping over. He's older, he's more ready. It's a well-rounded, you know, I think skill set there that'll play well. I, is he gonna have the upside of Moakami? No. But Okamoto is a guy that I, I just think he's not gonna. Strike out a lot. The swing decisions are good. He pulls the ball in the air at a high clip. Uh, the contact rates were above average. He walked nearly as much as he struck out, and the exit velocities are stronger than he gets credit for. I think Okamoto is, is a really, I was gonna say underrated at first, but now everyone's starting to say, oh, I like him more than more come. Stop. Like, stop. He might be better out of the gate, maybe, but you're gonna see two different realms contract wise. That said, Okamoto is maybe more built. To be an above average bat in the big leagues right away. And I think that's an important aspect of it between the swing decisions, the bat the ball, um, and, and still some sneaky impact. So, I think he's a 50 $60 million dollar player and maybe because of that mid-market not being as deep as. thought, um, maybe that drives the price up a little bit closer to 70+. Gotcha. Uh, do you have off the top of your head like possible suitors for a guy like that services? I feel like in that price range, it should be pretty much anybody. There should be anybody, but you know how it goes. Uh, like the Pirates should be begging. The Pirates should be doing whatever they can. They can afford that. Like, stop. Um, the, the Padres make, make some sense if they can find the money, and I think they can for a deal like that, um. It's, it, I think when you look at the Mariners, that's a very interesting plan B there as well. Um, and then again to your point, I think just about any team should be interested in a player that could be potentially acquired for 4 years, 60 million or 5 years, a little bit more.
