On Wednesday night, the New Orleans Pelicans hit the road for a Western Conference showdown against the Minnesota Timberwolves. New Orleans enters this matchup with a depleted roster after losing four key players in recent months, most recently Trey Murphy III. Despite that, the Pelicans squad still believes they can play spoiler to many top teams, which they hope to do against the Timberwolves. However, they’ll have their hands full against Chris Finch’s squad, who holds an 8-2 record in their last 10 games.

Pelicans vs Timberwolves Best Bet: Timberwolves -13
The Pelicans and Timberwolves have been on entirely different sides of the winning lately. New Orleans has struggled to overcome the injuries, losing their last three games. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves have been one of the best teams in the league over their recent stretch. NOLA is coming off a 46-point loss to the Detroit Pistons on Monday night, which marked the second time over their three-game stretch that they lost by 20+ points. With how poorly the Pelicans have looked recently, it’s hard to put faith in them keeping this game close.
Pelicans vs Timberwolves Best Total Bet: Over 228
While the Pelicans have struggled scoring lately, the Timberwolves have thrived in that area. Minnesota has scored 128+ points in each of their last two games and has scored no less than 115 points since early March. Assuming this trend stays the same, surpassing the 228-point set total should be more than feasible, even if the T-Wolves have to lead the scoring charge. A final score of 129-103 seems like a reasonable outcome.
Pelicans Best Player Bet: Zion Williamson 8+ Rebounds +215
Zion Williamson enters this matchup, averaging 24.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.2 assists on the season. The Duke product has looked the part when he’s on the court, and if the Pelicans hope to keep this game close, they’ll need their star forward to stay aggressive in each area of the game. With 8+ rebounds in two of his last three games, I’ll take the odds that the athletic freak will also grab eight or more boards in this matchup.
Timberwolves Best Player Bet: Anthony Edwards 30+ Points +132
Anthony Edwards is averaging 27.6 points on the season. Still, throughout March, the explosive scorer has seemingly elevated his game on the offense side of the floor, averaging 29.4 points per game. With 35+ points in each of his last two games, the 23-year-old is playing with extreme confidence lately, making him a nightmare to defend as he looks towards the postseason. If Edwards carries the same confidence into Wednesday’s matchup, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him post another 30+ performance.
