Suns vs Spurs Thursday Prediction | NBA Picks Today, Best Bets

The Phoenix Suns hit the road for a matchup against the San Antonio Spurs in each team’s return to action following the All-Star break. With both squads under the .500 mark, both sides should enter their first game following the break with an extra sense of urgency. Expect a dogfight with both Phoenix and San Antonio sitting outside of a play-in spot. It should be an extra unique atmosphere with this game being played in Austin, Texas, rather than at the Spurs’ regular home court, Frost Bank Center, in San Antonio.
Suns vs. Spurs
- Location: Moody Center (Austin, Texas) | Date: Thursday, Feb. 20th
- Where to Watch: TNT/truTV/Max | Time: 9:30 PM ET
- Spread: Suns -2, Moneyline: Suns -134, Total: 239
Suns vs. Spurs Best Bet: Spurs ML +114
Despite being the underdog, there’s an argument that San Antonio has been playing better basketball lately, especially since acquiring De’Aaron Fox. Phoenix entered the break on a three-game losing streak. Throughout the season, they haven’t shown enough for nearly anyone to trust them, even against another team under .500. That said, while the Spurs aren’t the most trustworthy either, I’ll take them looking to put on a show and expand their fanbase in Austin, some 80 miles up the I 35 from San Antone.

Suns vs. Spurs Best Total Bet: Under 239
Both teams have the firepower to hit the over on the 239-point set total, but as mentioned above, it’s hard to trust either side. Assuming this game follows the trend of the first matchup, which finished in a slower-scoring bout, a 118-113 final seems like a realistic outcome for this matchup. Give me the under.
Suns Best Player Bet: Kevin Durant 30+ Points +180
At 36, Kevin Durant is still one of the top basketball players in the world. He averages 27.3 points per game on the season while shooting 53.2% from the field. The Suns star has continued to elevate his game, hoping to carry the Suns to the postseason. In his last two games before the break, Durant finished with 30+ points in each. The veteran certainly understands the importance of the upcoming stretch, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see KD add another big game to his already impressive season.

Spurs Best Player Bet: Stephon Castle 15+ Points +100
Stephon Castle is averaging 12.9 points on the season, but don’t let his average fool you; the guard has come on strong of late. With 15 or more points in each of his last four games, including a career-high 33 points against the Charlotte Hornets, the Spurs rising star’s confidence will continue to grow. As the NBA Rookie of the Year favorite (-150) continues to get more comfortable on the court, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him be more aggressive down the back half of the season, which gives me the confidence he’ll have another solid night on Thursday.
