Timberwolves vs Lakers Prediction, Props, and Best Bets NBA Game 5

John Canady

Host · Writer

On Wednesday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves head West for another showdown against the Los Angeles Lakers. Minnesota is one game away from advancing to the Western Conference Semifinals, but they’ll have to outlast one of the best playoff performers, LeBron James, one last time. Expect both squads to put forth their best efforts in a pivotal matchup.

Timberwolves vs Lakers Best Bet: Lakers -5.5

Los Angeles has struggled throughout this series to finish the game, but in the last three games, the Lakers have been in a position to secure a win before a rough fourth quarter stretch puts them in a bad position. I expect JJ Redick’s squad to finally figure things out tonight and put together a complete game that allows them to win by 6+ points.

Timberwolves vs Lakers Best Total Bet: Over 209.5

The Lakers and Timberwolves have put together offensive displays throughout this first-round series. In three of the first four games, the two squads have well-exceeded the 209.5-point set total. Assuming the trend stays the same on Wednesday, a final score of 117-110 seems realistic.

Timberwolves Best Player Bet: Anthony Edwards 5+ Threes +160

Anthony Edwards has become one of the most fun playoff performers to watch. At only 23 years old, you can see how personally he takes these matchups against the top players in the league, whom he idolized growing up. Throughout this series, the Georgia product averages 29.8 points per game, including back-to-back games with 5+ threes made. Fresh off a 43-point performance, I expect Edwards to continue shooting confidently, which gives me faith that he’ll finish with 5+ threes again.

Lakers Best Player Bet: LeBron James OVER 26.5 Points +104

With their backs against the wall, I expect LeBron James to take over in this matchup and will his squad again. The Lakers star has done it repeatedly, and at 40 years old, he continues to prove he’s one of the most dominant players in the league. James has finished with 27+ points in each of the last two games, and with the Lakers’ season on the line, I can see him extending the streak to three games to force a Game 6.
