Tonight in the NBA 6 o'clock start, Miami Heat Orlando Magic, slight favorite to the Miami Heat on the road and a total, Joe, of 234.5. What's your spread line here? NBA Cup action, quarterfinal action in Orlando, uh, and listen, these two teams have already played one of each other twice this year, and, uh, Miami lost both by a combined 4 points. Uh, this is gonna be interesting. Franz Wagner, not available for Orlando, he hurt himself. That's a big loss. Miami, looking to get a little bit of revenge here, and I think they will. Tonight. Let's get to the action, people. And sometimes I use this show as therapy, right? Feel a little bit better than when we started. Maybe not as much angriness, but maybe I will get angry to end the show here. We don't know that. It's not he writes out a show in here. Let's bring in Coach JY. I can never get angry at JY. The man comes on with a smile on his face. He's very professional. He doesn't lose his mind except when the Knicks do some stupid things. But my eagles let me down last night, coach, but I know you won't let me down today. Thank you for being here. I, I, I, I don't know. I mean, the Knicks have been the the bane of my existence. Actually, no, I'm a Jets fan. So between the Knicks and Jets and the Mets, I've had pain for 49 years of my life, but we'll see what New York tonight as they have a big game obviously with Toronto in the NBA Cup, uh, quarterfinals, I should say. Got you. We are in the month of December and a lot of times we take a look and say, all right, when's the NBA season actually starting? It's usually Christmas Day, it's an extravaganza in the way we look forward to the playoffs and the meaningful games here. But the NBA Cup is underway, something the NBA put in, so we get more eyeballs on. In the NBA before we get to Christmas Day and beyond after football season. Coach, tell me, your cup process here, what do you like about the cup and what you dislike about the cup. Are you a big fan of it here? Do the players seem to like it much more? What's the vibes here over the past year and a half in this? Listen, I, I'm a fan of the NBA Cup. Uh, I've, I've said it from the jump, you know, obviously, we talked about the unofficial start of the NBA season being Christmas Day, and it kind of gives you something to look forward to. Smart by the NBA having the games on Tuesday and Wednesday night, not competing with the NFL on Monday and Thursday. So it's actually a smart look on their part in regards to the matchups. And then you think about it, uh, Donnie, in regards to teams, in regards to, you know, what, what are we looking for? I, I think it's so pivotal, Donnie and Joe, that you have teams that are trying to establish winning cultures to be in this round. If you kind of look at Toronto tonight, team has not made the playoffs in a long time, sitting at 15 and 10, even though they're struggling a little bit. New York trying to establish that culture under Mike Brown with an immense amount of pressure. A team like Orlando, you know, we'll talk about the injury with Wagner, but a team that, you know, is trying to get through the hump and then Miami, a team that we've been thinking about, uh, is their dynasty or their run over. With Spo, and then you get to the Western Conference, Phoenix team that's completely overachieved. Uh, we can talk about that when they had last night, uh, at Minnesota. And then you look at a team like San Antonio. So to me, when you got these young teams that are trying to establish something, winning culture, this kind of puts them in almost that playoff atmosphere, almost like a game seven, night in, night out. Yeah, it does feel like, uh, it feels like a little more of a playoff atmosphere than anything else in these games, coach, and, and tonight it's not gonna be any different. The first game is my Miami Heat on the road taking on uh Orlando, who won't have Franz Wagner. Uh, but, uh, I mean, they've already played twice, and, and Miami has lost by a combined 5 points in those two games. Uh, what are we thinking we're gonna get in this rematch here, a third time? Well, if you kind of look at Miami, listen, they should be, you know, ready to go after that embarrassing 127-111 loss at home to Sacramento. So Spoelstra's groups can be ready, and this is gonna be the first time we'll see, uh, Orlando, uh, without Wagner. My, my concern is you have a Miami team, even though they've not scored a ton of points lately, they've tried to push the pace versus the Orlando. The team that scored 10, 100, 106, and then 112. They haven't really scored the ball a lot under in three straight games. 234.5. I think I'm looking under here and with the line moving, it was, I think, uh, they were getting points. Now, Miami's giving points. I look at Miami on the money line just because they're a healthier team and I'm gonna trust Spo on a spot there. Give me Miami Heat on a win and the under. Knicks and the Raptors coach. Overnight line actually had the Knicks as a 2.5 point favorite at FanDuel. We're now seeing 4.5s across the board against the Raptors and the total, that was 231.5. That's been bet down to 225.5. Any key injuries? And also, coach, what are you thinking about this game tonight between the Knicks and the Raps? Well, when you, when you look at this game, Toronto really got off to a great start, guys, and, and we were really impressed about what we were seeing out of Toronto. They, they've kind of, you know, come back to, to the pack here. A really good thing about the NBA at 30 minutes past every hour, they have injury reports have come out. RJ Barrett still out of tonight. So when you look at this matchup, I'm looking at New York here to get the job done on the road. They have to be better on the road. Uh, New York, you know, Has, uh, won 3 straight games. Uh, they've covered the spread in 3 straight, I, I should say. So, to me, I'm looking at New York. I got the Toronto team that's struggling a little bit for the first time this year, especially with the injury bug, and the fact that they have Anannobi back is huge. You remember, uh, I think Toronto, I think they're like 0 and 7 against the spread the last 7 games. Give me the Knicks. Line's moving, may want to jump on it now, 4.5, they may move to 5, 5.5 as we get closer to tipoff. It, it's crazy cause I don't think, I don't think Toronto's beaten the Knicks since, uh, I don't know, since when you were actually playing for the Knicks. Uh, it has been, uh, quite a while, they have actually owned them. But I'm just curious, coach, cause here we are sitting December 9th, right? And maybe one of the best stories in the NBA and nobody's talking about it. How many games does Oklahoma City lose this year? Cause I, there's 23 and 1 coach right now, and I don't see them losing any of these games in the cup either. No, they're 23 and 1, and they just got Jada back and they're just kind of rolling. It, it's, it's, it's an embar guys, it's an embarrassment of riches of what Sam Presty has at his disposal. And, and here's the thing that, that no one wants to talk about, right? You look at, uh, the fact that this team with the trouble of draft picks. And you look at the young players, guys, what happens if they want Giannis? I mean, they got more at some point, Sam Presty is gonna take those 2,492 draft picks and all that young talent and flip it for someone. And when it happens, 23 and 1, guys, they, they're gonna roll. Through that record of 7073 wins, uh, by the Golden State Warriors. It's scary. There's no one that could play with them. It's almost like, can teams even keep them close? Remember, last time they played against Phoenix, oh, I think it was an overtime game, but it's a huge line. I think they blow them out when they play tomorrow. Take a look, coach. OKC to get that seventy-fourth regular season win this, this year is plus 360 price. If we do look at the NBA championship odds, the Thunder are a + 130 price. If we remove them from the equation like we do in golf with Scotty Scheffler, who else, Joe, who else is out there, coach? Nuggets, Rockets, Knicks, Cavs, who would get that, that money for you? Nobody because no was beating the team. I mean, there's no way around it. They gotta get, they listen. They need SJ injured for me to even think about taking someone else. That's how much better they are than everyone else in the league. Come on, coach, Giannis to the Knicks doesn't pique your interest right there. Get back into it. Challenge him a little bit. Give me that pump fake to the break, baby. Pump fake to the break, baby. George, 1st, 1st, half money line yesterday, Philadelphia Eagles. Oh, late in the half, first and goal from the 2. Sure, punch it in, tie it up, no big deal, you move on. Yeah, then the Eagles happened. Then for me, Sacramento, oh, you want a 4-point lead with a couple of minutes left to go in the game and get 3.5 points. Yeah, how about you go dead in the water the final 2 minutes to get pummeled by the Pacers. That's the way it went down. But today, Joe, we changed those fortunes. Where are we going today? Yeah, well, today we're gonna go to the, uh, the NBA Cup, uh, Donnie, and we're gonna look at that first game with the Miami Heat taking on the Orlando Magic and the coach JayY kind of alluded to it here a little bit. If it's one thing that we have noticed with these NBA Cup games is that they are much more. They aren't just like a random Tuesday night during the regular season where guys aren't playing any defense and nobody cares, and we'll just, you know, these games have a lot more juice here, especially for teams that haven't exactly been very good over the last couple of seasons. You got the Magic and the Heat, who have battled now, and I told you, they've already played 2 games this year, Donnie, separated. By 5 points, including last Friday's 106-105 Orlando win in Orlando. They just lost their number one scorer, Franz Wagner did, uh, the magic. The Heat will be there, ready to go, but more than anything, they're bringing the defense, Donnie. 234.5 is too high as far as I'm concerned. I'm looking at the under here tonight. Take the under heat and the magic for me. I'm gonna go north of the border to the 6, and that's the Toronto Raptors and the New York Knicks. We just had coach James Young here talking, you know, he's a Knicks fan today. I'm gonna ride the lightning and ride the line. -2.5 at the opening number at FanDuel for the Knicks. They now sit at 4.5 across the board. I'm gonna buy the public favorite today, Joe. I'm rolling with the Knicks. -4.5 and a -114 price. Knicks by 5. Knicks by 5.
