5. Arizona Wildcats
The Arizona Wildcats need some help on the wing, and Great Osobor would be an exciting fit to replace the graduated Keshad Johnson. Arizona is probably the best team that has shown an interest in Osobor, and the Wildcats need to add some extra quality as they migrate to the Big 12. Osobor would help replace some of the rebounding lost by the departure of Oumar Ballo. Osobor has shown he can handle the ball on the perimeter and attack off the dribble. He would provide a bit of lineup versatility for Tommy Lloyd.

Great Osobor, the reigning Mountain West Conference Player of the Year, has entered the transfer portal. The most straightforward path this could take would be to follow his Utah State head coach, Danny Sprinkle, to Seattle and play for the Washington Huskies. Osobor played for Sprinkle at Montana State and followed him to play for the Aggies. He’s had great success in his system, averaging 17.7 points and nine rebounds per game in 2023 as Utah State went 28-7 and made the NCAA Tournament. Sprinkle needs players at Washington, and Osobor would be a great addition. If the plan were to follow Sprinkle, one would think it would already be done by now. Osobor might be looking for something different this time around.

2. Kentucky Wildcats
Great Osobor is meeting with new Kentucky head coach Mark Pope this weekend. Pope, formerly the head coach at BYU, would be pretty familiar with the Utah State big man, and Osobor likely knows exactly what he’d get playing for Pope. On the surface, it’s not a perfect fit. Osobor got the ball in post-up situations more than almost anyone in the country (fifth most per Synergy), something that Pope’s system will not replicate. Kentucky is a huge stage, which Osobor could be looking for. Osobor is a proven and productive player, and Kentucky needs to start filling out a roster. Plus, Osobor will be very aware of the NIL opportunities the Wildcats fanbase would present.

3. Kansas State Wildcats
The Kansas State Wildcats have been in the market for a big guy all portal season. They tried to make a run at Oumar Ballo and have tried for Clifford Omoruyi but have not been able to land that big fish yet. Great Osobor is not on that level and is a different type of player, but with Cam Carter leaving for LSU, Osobor would fill a hole and provide lineup flexibility. Jerome Tang needs a strong season after missing the NCAA Tournament, and the Big 12 is not getting any easier with Arizona entering the league. The Wildcats could use a veteran scorer in the post, and Osobor’s ability to handle the ball and attack off the dribble would be a new wrinkle for their offense.

Head coach Tad Boyle has a ton of work to do if the Buffaloes are to get back there in 2024-2025. Multiple vital contributors, including big man Eddie Lampkin, have left the program, and Colorado has aggressively pursued several potential replacements. The location would make sense for Great Osobor and keep him close to the region of the country where he has played his collegiate career thus far.
