Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin may not be a program many people would tie to Robbie Aliva. However, with the way Greg Gard designed the Badgers offense, the former Indiana State star could thrive in their offense. Competing in the Big 10 with a chance to be a focal point in the offense could persuade Avila to head to Wisconsin.
CBB Transfer Portal: Top 5 Landing Spots for Robbie Aliva
Robbie Aliva quickly became one of social media’s favorite players throughout his impressive season at Indiana State. The big man finished the year averaging 17.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists while shooting 53.6% from field goal range and 39.4% from three. With the ability to score and pass at six-foot-ten, Avila has the skillset many teams will covet. As the sophomore enters the transfer portal, these five landing spots could be perfect for the playmaker.
Illinois Fighting Illini
Illinois is coming off one of the most impressive seasons in program history. With the top offense in the nation, the Fighting Illini could take another step if they land a versatile center like Robbie Aliva. And as an Illinois native, Avila may jump at the possibility of suiting up for his home state university.
Purdue Boilermakers
Purdue is fresh off a national championship experience where the team fell short to UConn. And while the Boilermakers have had a more than successful season, they’re preparing to lose the player who was the key to their run this season, Zach Edey. With Edey likely headed to the NBA Draft, Purdue could turn to Robbie Aliva to slot in the frontcourt.
Saint Louis Billikins
Saint Louis may not have a premiere program compared to the rest of these schools, but it makes perfect sense for Robbie Aliva. With former Sycamores head coach Josh Schertz being hired to lead the Billikens squad, the 20-year-old could consider joining his coach’s new team. With two solid seasons under Schertz at ISU, the center may want to continue to develop under the coach who recruited him.
Indiana Hoosiers
Mike Woodson has done a great job in Indiana, building a more than competitive roster. With multiple talented prospects set to join the Hoosiers, the team may be on the verge of putting together a historic season. Adding a talent like Robbie Aliva would only help them do that. If the big man were to want to stay in Indiana, perhaps a step up in competition while staying local could be a good selling point.
