The Florida Gators open the NCAA Tournament versus the Norfolk State Spartans, but they can't take anything for granted beyond that. The West features a bevy of top contenders, including the St. John's Red Storm, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Maryland Terrapins. Moreover, the Gators will be tested in the second round by an unsuspecting dark horse.

The Auburn Tigers have dropped three of four and lost traction in the AP and Coaches Polls. But that didn't deter the NCAA Tournament committee from installing them as the top seed in March Madness. Still, Auburn has the third-longest odds of any No. 1 seed to win the tournament.

Round of 64 Opponent: Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers/American University Eagles
Location: Lenovo Center (Raleigh, NC)

Time: 2:50 p.m. ET

Inarguably, the Duke Blue Devils enter as the top team in the NCAA Tournament. Duke leads the AP and Coaches Poll and Net and KenPom rankings. More importantly, they have the shortest odds to claim this year's National Championship, currently listed at +310. Those odds only go down the longer they stay in the tournament.

Round of 64 Opponent: SIU Edwardsville Cougars

If defense wins championships, then give the Houston Cougars this year's belt. Houston is among the leaders in every defensive category, captured in its second-best defensive efficiency rating in the KenPom rankings.
