NCAA Sweet 16 2025: Top Player Props for Friday, March 28

It’s everyone’s favorite time of year — March Madness! After two exciting opening rounds, we are down to the Sweet Sixteen. There is no shortage of bets, so we’re highlighting our favorite player props for Friday, March 28.

Johni Broome to Record 20+ Points +100

(5) Michigan Wolverines vs. (1) Auburn Tigers

While other top seeds have had to fight and claw their way to victory, the Auburn Tigers have had a relatively unobstructed path to the Sweet Sixteen. While the SEC regular season champs didn’t cover the -31.5 spread in the opening round, they easily cruised to a 20-point win over Alabama State. They followed that up with an 82-70 victory over Creighton in Round 2. However, Auburn faces a much stiffer challenge in getting past the Michigan Wolverines on Friday.

Thankfully, the Tigers can turn to their not-so-secret weapon — Johni Broome. The Tigers’ big man has had a tepid start to the NCAA Tournament. Broome has a combined 22 points through the first two games, taking fewer shots and going cold the last time out. Nevertheless, he won’t stay down forever, and tonight’s tilt is an ideal bounce-back spot for Broome.

Over the last few games, Broome has gone just 9-for-22 from the floor, yielding a sub-optimal 40.9% shooting percentage. That puts him ten points off his regular-season average, making him a natural progression candidate against the Wolverines.

The moment has never been too big for Broome, and we expect him to deliver another signature performance behind an Auburn-friendly crowd in Atlanta. If the Tigers hope to escape this pivotal test, Broome needs to deliver. We’re betting he puts Auburn on his back and eclipses 20 points.

Trey Kaufman-Renn Under 17.5 Points -105

(4) Purdue Boilermakers vs (1) Houston Cougars

Few teams have cracked the Houston Cougars’ defensive shell, and we don’t think the Purdue Boilermakers are one of the chosen few. As a result, we’re taking the under on Trey Kaufman-Renn’s points prop at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Kaufman-Renn has been playing out of his shoes recently. In doing so, he’s elevated his metrics beyond sustainable levels. The Boilermakers forward has 20 or more points in five straight, averaging 25.2 points per game. However, that increase in scoring has come despite a decrease in his shooting percentage. Kaufman-Renn is operating several points below his usual rate, dropping from 59.9% on the season to 53.7% over the five-game sample. Naturally, this means he’s taking more shots, but it’s unlikely that a one-dimensional approach suits the Boilermakers’ needs versus the Cougars.

Kaufman-Renn’s shooting percentage could take a further hit against Houston’s top-ranked defense. The Cougars limit opponents to a college basketball-best 58.4 points per game and the third-lowest shooting percentage (38.4%). Therefore, we anticipate a decline in Kaufman-Renn’s scoring efficiency in the Sweet Sixteen.

Our preferred play in this Midwest Regional semifinal is taking the under 17.5 on Kaufman-Renn’s points prop.
