West Virginia Mountaineers
West Virginia is another team Bronny James posted on his social media that may not have been a thought for him. However, with the Mountaineers' apparent interest in the guard, it’s worth noting that WVU would be another program that would give the former Trojan a chance to showcase his talent in a more significant role. While it’ll be hard to see James choosing West Virginia over other top programs, it’s something to watch until James finds his new home.
Top 5 Landing Spots for Bronny James
Coming out of high school, Bronny James was one of the most talked-about prospects despite not being considered a top recruit. The Sierra Canyon product committed to USC, where he only played one season in limited minutes as a freshman. Now, the talented guard hits the transfer portal, looking to continue his development elsewhere. And with plenty of suitors for the oldest son of LeBron James, here are the top five landing spots.
Duke Blue Devils
Duke has been linked to Bronny James since early on in his recruiting process. Mike Krzyzewski monitored the combo guard for years, and after stepping down, the Blue Devils ultimately elected not to extend an official offer for James. However, after entering the portal, Duke was among the few teams the rising sophomore posted on his social media. Perhaps James could finally end up playing for the historic ACC team.
Ohio State Buckeyes
After entering the portal, Ohio State may be one of the obvious fits for Bronny James. Not only is LeBron James from Ohio but he’s also gone on record as a big Ohio State fan since entering the league. And before committing to USC, the Buckeyes were one of the multiple offers James received. Although many thought he’d initially land with Ohio State, there’s no better time than the present.
Connecticut Huskies
UConn was never rumored to be a team in the original Bronny James sweepstakes. Still, with their recent success, the defending champs will look to continue adding top talent. And with their backcourt likely losing a few pieces to the draft following the end of the season, James could be a good fit on the Huskies roster.
Texas Longhorns
The Longhorns may not be a team that many initially thought Bronny James might be interested in, but it makes sense for the former four-star recruit for many reasons. Texas is entering the SEC next season, and with top competition to play against, it’ll bode well for James’s development. The six-foot-four guard will likely be a focal point on the team’s offense if he were to land in Texas.
