College Football Week 9: Predicting the Outcomes of Every Top 25 Game

Kansas Jayhawks vs. No. 16 Kansas State Wildcats (-9.5)

If this spread moves to double figures, we might adjust how we look at this game. For now, the Wildcats have the tools need to continue picking up victories. 

Prediction: Kansas State 35, Kansas 25

No. 17 Boise State Broncos (-3.5) vs. UNLV Rebels

The hook here certainly makes things a little more interesting. The Broncos offense pulls away late and secures the cover. 

Prediction: Boise State 35, UNLV 30

Washington Huskies vs. No. 13 Indiana Hoosiers (-6.5)

It's hard to envision the Washington Huskies going on the road across the country and keeping this close against a strong Indiana team. 

Prediction: Indiana 30, Washington 20

Oklahoma Sooners vs. No. 18 Ole Miss Rebels (-20.5)

As much as it's been a poor season for the Oklahoma Sooners, I don't envision this Ole Miss team coming out on top in this clash by three touchdowns or more. 

Prediction: Ole Miss 31, Oklahoma 17

No. 12 Notre Fighting Irish (-12.5) vs. No. 24 Navy Midshipmen

There's no doubt in my mind that this Navy program deserves a ton of respect. I think Notre Dame wants to make another statement in this top 25 tilt, and Navy won't be able to completely stop that from happening. 

Prediction: Notre Dame 37, Navy 23

Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes (-25.5)

As much as this is a big number, the Buckeyes present a unique challenge for this Nebraska team defensively. 

Prediction: Ohio State 38,  Nebraska 10

No. 21 Missouri Tigers vs. No. 15 Alabama Crimson Tide (-13.5)

There have been ups and downs from Alabama, but this Missouri team hasn't shown me that they can keep this game close. 

Prediction: Alabama 34, Missouri 17

No. 11 BYU Cougars vs. UCF Knights (-1.5)

There are certainly some concerns with BYU of late, but I think they can do just enough here to pull off the road victory. 

Prediction: BYU 28, UCF 25

No. 20 Illinois Fighting Illini vs. No. 1 Oregon Ducks (-21.5)

This is a big number for Oregon, but they've shown that they can play a complete game over the last month. That continues at home against Illinois. 

Prediction: Oregon 38, Illinois 16

No. 5 Texas Longhorns (-18.5) vs. No. 25 Vanderbilt Commodores

As much as I respect the Longhorns, this Vanderbilt team knows how to punch. I think they can keep this close enough to sneak in a big door cover. 

Prediction: Texas 33, Vanderbilt 18

Florida State Seminoles vs. No. 6 Miami Hurricanes (-20.5)

It's fairly hard to side with the Seminoles in a matchup they have no business being in. As a result, the Hurricanes stay perfect and win big. 

Prediction: Miami 40, Florida State 10

No. 8 LSU Tigers vs. No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies (-2.5)

This is certainly the game of the week in Week 9. I think it's been an emotional stretch for the LSU Tigers, and the Aggies defense will make them pay for that here. 

Prediction: Texas A&M 27, LSU 23

No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions (-6.5) vs. Wisconsin Badgers

This will be a bigger test for the Nittany Lions than some will give it credit. Still, Penn State has enough weapons on both sides of the football to win by a touchdown on the road. 

Prediction: Penn State 27, Wisconsin 19

No. 22 SMU Rebels (-11.5) vs. Duke Blue Devils

I think Duke will surprise some people in this matchup at home. I'm not saying they win outright, but they certainly can keep it to single digits. 

Prediction: SMU 27, Duke 20
