Georgia vs Texas Best Bet ATS: Bulldogs +2.5 (-102)

The Georgia Bulldogs enter a matchup as an underdog for the second time this season. The original matchup where the Bulldogs were underdogs came against, you guessed it, these same Longhorns. Seeing how Carson Beck manages the game against this defense will be interesting. Turnovers were plentiful on both sides during their first meeting, and we didn’t see Georgia put together many sustainable drives. Still, one major thing that’s given the Bulldogs trouble has been mobile quarterbacks. Quinn Ewers is more of a pocket presence, giving the Bulldogs less to worry about from a scheming standpoint. They proved that in the first matchup, and it won’t be a surprise to see them prove that again here. I’ll be interested to see how Steve Sarkisian mixes in Arch Manning, if at all. Ewers enters this game banged up, while some of the Longhorns’ key weapons on their offensive line are also aching. If the Bulldogs can take away the run, their secondary should make the difference and lead them to an SEC Championship Game victory.

Georgia vs Texas Best Bet Total: UNDER 49.5 (-110)

Georgia’s offense is at its best when it’s finding success with the run and mixing in play action. I think they’ll sometimes succeed with that against Texas, but not nearly enough to make this some back-and-forth Wild West shootout. Although there are some dynamic weapons to this Texas offense, Georgia’s defense has the talent to keep them at bay for stretches. This is the second matchup this year between these two teams, which typically equates to fewer points scored. Steve Sarkisian and Kirby Smart will make adjustments, which should keep this number lower.
