The Indiana Hoosiers host the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a pivotal Big Ten clash on Saturday afternoon in Bloomington. Indiana is one of the most surprising teams in the country as Curt Cignetti flipped the roster, brought in Kurtis Rourke and a host of other transfers (mostly from Group of Five schools), and has led the Hoosiers to their best start since 1967. Nebraska has also had a strong season, starting 5-1 (2-1) in Matt Rhule’s second campaign in Lincoln. The Cornhuskers have one of the best defenses in the Big Ten, while IU sports one of the league’s best offenses.

Nebraska at Indiana Best Bet ATS: Indiana (-6.5)
The SportsGrid model loves the Indiana Hoosiers in this matchup. The model has a five-star play on IU covering the 6.5-point spread and is projecting a ten-point Indiana win. The Hoosiers have won each of their six games by double-digits and have used a balanced attack to pummel opposing defenses. IU has run for 23 rushing touchdowns, behind only Army and Boise State nationally, while Nebraska is the only team in the country yet to allow a rushing touchdown. That showdown of immovable object versus irresistible force is compelling, but the Hoosiers can rely on the passing game if the Huskers shut down the run. Kurtis Rourke is playing at a high level, and Nebraska’s secondary could be susceptible as long as the Hoosiers can find some balance with the running game. IU will try to heat up the pocket around freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola and the model does not think the Huskers can keep pace on offense.

Nebraska at Indiana Best Player Props
The Indiana Hoosiers are difficult to bet player props on because they spread the ball out so much. For instance, Indiana has running backs with seven, six, four, and one rushing touchdowns. The receiving touchdowns are spread across seven players (one of which has left the program for the transfer portal), and six players have at least nine catches. Nebraska leans a little more heavily on one running back: Dante Dowdell. The sophomore running back has double the number of carries as any other back, and his five rushing touchdowns are more than double what any other Nebraska back has. SportsGrid’s model likes a pair of Dowdell bets: Dowdell to score an anytime touchdown at +185 and Dowdell to go over 47.5 rushing yards (-114). Nebraska will likely try to control the time of possession and keep Indiana’s explosive offense off the field. The best way to do that is by riding their feature running back.
