It's pretty easy to get excited about the Ohio State Buckeyes on both sides of the football. As a unit, this might be the best defense in the country. They'll have their hands full with an Oregon offense near the top of the class in Week 7.

3. Oregon Ducks (5-0)

After a slow start to the year, the Oregon Ducks are back to resembling one of the most dominant teams in the sport. Can they take down a powerhouse in Ohio State in Week 7 at home?

4. Penn State Nittany Lions (5-0)

The Penn State Nittany Lions continue to fly under the radar. With some tough tests on the horizon, we're going to learn a lot about this program in October.

The Miami Hurricanes have nearly slipped up multiple times this season. They need to play with more urgency if we're going to rank them higher on this list.

One of the surprise teams this season resides in Indiana. The Hoosiers have continued to perform well above expectations on both sides of the football.

7. Iowa State Cyclones (5-0)

It's been very evident that the Iowa Cyclones have one of the top defenses in the country through Week 6. Is it sustainable for a full season?

8. BYU Cougars (5-0)

The BYU Cougars haven't been perfect on offense, but they sure have on defense. Winning the Big 12 is certainly within the realm of possibility.

9. Pittsburgh Panthers (5-0)

If the Pittsburgh Panthers offense continues to roll like this, there's reason to be bullish about this group. I'm not sold on them defensively, but they've posted a 5-0 record for a reason.

It's not difficult to envision the Liberty Flames sneaking into the College Football Playoff this season. The path is there, and they've yet to stumble.

11. Army Black Knights (5-0)

Defense remains the calling card for Army. This team works hard and has some real talent. It will be interesting to see how they fair in the back half of this season.

The level of competition will always be a concern, but it's easy to like what we've seen from Navy on both sides of the football.
