Week 0 - Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 24 - Florida State Seminoles 21
We didn't know it then, but the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets' triumph over Florida State in Ireland foreshadowed what would come for the Seminoles. Much was made of FSU's chances of re-establishing itself as a national powerhouse, but most of that shine was worn off following a massive defeat at the hands of the Yellow Jackets.
Week 1 - Georgia Bulldogs 34 - Clemson Tigers 3
In what could be a preview of a College Football Playoff matchup, the Georgia Bulldogs easily dispatched the Clemson Tigers in their season opener back in Week 1. It was all academic for the Bulldogs, who out-matched the Tigers in every facet of the game.
Week 1 - USC Trojans 27 - LSU Tigers 20
After years of lying dormant, the USC Trojans stepped into the 2024 season, ready to prove they are the powerhouse they once were. They proved as much in their season opener, humbling the LSU Tigers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Week 1 - Notre Dame Fighting Irish 23 - Texas A&M Aggies 13
There was no shortage of intrigue as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish took to the gridiron versus the Texas A&M Aggies in Week 1. Notre Dame spent the offseason luring top prospects to South Bend and intended to start the season with a win. They did that, winning as +2.5 underdogs in the Top 25 showdown.
Week 2 - Texas Longhorns 31 - Michigan Wolverines 12
The Texas Longhorns entered the 2024 campaign with a chip on their shoulder, and it showed against the Michigan Wolverines. Needing to make amends for their early playoff exit last year, the Longhorns appeared intent on showing that they're the best team in the nation in Week 2's non-conference matchup. They did just that, embarrassing the Wolverines 31-12 at The Big House.
Week 2 - Northern Illinois Huskies 16 - Notre Dame Fighting Irish 14
So much for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish's undefeated season. Two weeks into the season, they were upset at Notre Dame Stadium, showing no signs of life against the Northern Illinois Huskies. In the end, NIU cashed as meaty underdogs, whose moneyline price reached as high as +2474 at some shops.
Week 3 - Washington State Cougars 24 - Washington Huskies 19
There's always something magical about in-state rivalry games, and that's particularly true any time the Washington State Cougars and Washington Huskies take to the field. There was more than pride on the line after the Huskies led the exodus out of the Pac-12, and Washington State had something to prove in Week 3. The Cougars trounced the Huskies at home, upending Washington's playoff hopes in the process.
Week 3 - Pittsburgh Panthers 38 - West Virginia Mountaineers 34
There's always something special about the Backyard Brawl, and the 2024 edition didn't disappoint. Down ten with less than five minutes to play, the Pittsburgh Panthers scored touchdowns on consecutive drives to pull off the massive come-from-behind victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Week 4 - BYU Cougars 38 - Kansas State Wildcats 9
There's an argument to be made that the BYU Cougars still aren't getting the respect they deserve. An afterthought in Big 12 play, BYU shot itself into championship consideration by dismantling the Kansas State Wildcats in Week 4. The Cougars unseated the powerhouse Wildcats with a 38-9 beatdown but are still only the second-highest-ranked team in the Big 12.
Week 4 - Buffalo Bulls 23 - Northern Illinois Huskies 20 (OT)
It's time to show some love for the Group of 5 competitors. Fresh off their massive upset over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Northern Illinois Huskies cracked the Top 25 and had a seemingly uncontested path to a 3-0 start. But the Buffalo Bulls had other plans. Buffalo pushed NIU to the limit, escaping DeKalb with an overtime victory as +12.5 underdogs. They disrupted the Huskies' playoff aspirations while pushing themselves near the top of the Group of 5 Power Rankings.
Week 4 - Michigan Wolverines 27 - USC Trojans 24
We knew the Big Ten would be more competitive this season, but there was no predicting the drama that would unfold between the Michigan Wolverines and USC Trojans in Week 4. Michigan entered the contest as +4.5 home underdogs, desperately needing a win to stay in the College Football Playoff conversation. It took all 60 minutes, but with seconds left on the clock, the Wolverines punched in a go-ahead touchdown to secure a 27-24 victory.
Week 5 - Arizona Wildcats 23 - Utah Utes 10
The Utah Utes were expected to be the class of the Big 12 this season, but a Week 5 loss to the unranked Arizona Wildcats disrupted those notions. Utah couldn't manufacture anything offensively, totaling just 364 yards at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The Utes will have to earn their way into the CFP the hard way.
Week 5 - Kansas State Wildcats 42 - Oklahoma State Cowboys 20
The Big 12 will be a war of attrition this season, amplifying the stakes for any conference showdown. The Kansas State Wildcats and Oklahoma State Cowboys needed to leave with the win in Week 5, but the host Wildcats had the upper hand. K-State hung 42 points on the Cowboys, out-gaining their conference rivals by a 559 to 490 margin. That all but dashed Oklahoma State's conference championship chances, giving life to the Wildcats.
Week 5 - Notre Dame Fighting Irish 31 - Louisville Cardinals 24
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish's playoff hopes took a significant blow following their Week 2 loss to the Northern Illinois Huskies. As a result, they can't afford any slip-ups between now and the end of the season if they hope to maintain their National Championship aspirations. While Notre Dame's offense has looked underwhelming at times, they were up to the task against the Louisville Cardinals in Week 5. The Fighting Irish scored 31 points against the Cardinals, cashing as -6.5 chalk.
