Payton Wilson (LB)
After dropping in the 2024 NFL Draft because of some medical concerns, Payton Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers are a match made in heaven. The Steelers have been strong at developing talent on defense. Look no further than T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. Wilson adds another youthful element to the fold, and will undoubtedly be a player we have a close eye on in camp. Can he come in during Year 1 and make a difference for the Black and Gold?

Troy Fautanu (OL)
The Pittsburgh Steelers have heavily invested into their offensive line over the last two drafts. Last year, they selected Broderick Jones with their first round pick, and they followed that up with Troy Fautanu in 2024. If the Steelers are going to have any success in 2024, they need their youthful offensive line to step up and be qualified for the job. It's not hard to see the high ceiling in Fautanu, but how he begins the year at training will go a long way in determining whether or not he's starting on the offensive line in Week 1.
Calvin Austin III (WR)
Behind George Pickens, the wide receiver number two spot in Pittsburgh is wide open heading into training camp. The early headlines going into training camp are that expectations will be high for Calvin Austin III. The speedy wideout has the chance to really take a big step forward in 2024, and we'll certainly get some sort of an idea how ready he is to make that jump in training camp and the preseason. The talent has already been shown in flashes, but can he bring consistency for this offense?
Justin Fields (QB)
Even with Russell Wilson leading the way in the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback room, 2024 training camp will be very important for Justin Fields. It's unknown how long Wilson will be in the mix with the Steelers, and Fields needs a contract heading into next year. A strong showing in training camp and the preseason could very well give the Steelers brass some confidence about locking Fields up. Going from being a starter in Chicago and taking a step back in Pittsburgh to the backup role won't be easy, but this is a very important year in the development for Fields.

Cory Trice Jr. (CB)
It's no secret that the Steelers have some real question marks in their secondary heading into training camp. One way they can erase some doubts is if Cory Trice Jr. fits into the defense seamlessly. Trice Jr. missed all of his rookie year with an injury. With his frame and athleticism, Trice Jr. has the makings of a player that can help elevate Pittsburgh's secondary. Will his missed season stunt his growth, or will Trice Jr. step in immediately and contribute? Training camp will certainly give us an idea.
