The Chicago Bears and Houston Texans enter Week 2 at 1-0, but only one team can advance to Week 3 undefeated. With two top-three picks in Caleb Williams and C.J. Stroud set to go head-to-head, Sunday’s game could be one of the best matchups this weekend.
Here’s what you need to know ahead of kickoff.
Bears vs. Texans
Location: NRG Stadium (Houston, Texas) Time: 8:20 p.m. ET | Where to Watch: NBC/Peacock
Spread: Texans -6.5, Moneyline: Texans -270, Total: 45.5
Bears vs. Texans Best Bet: Texans -270
The Texans entered this season as a contender after their flurry of offseason moves following an impressive season last year under first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans. Houston showed just that in Week 1 with a divisional win over an underrated Indianapolis Colts team. Meanwhile, the Bears defeated the Tennessee Titans in one of the ugliest games you’ll see all year. With Houston looking to prove the hype around them is legit, bet on the Texans to defend their home field.
Bears vs. Texans Best Total Bet: Over 45.5
Entering this matchup, the Texans alone could put up over half the total point projection. With Houston’s star wide receiver trio continuing to build chemistry, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Stroud and Co. put on a show in their home opener. As for the Bears, the No. 1 overall pick didn’t exactly showcase what he was drafted to do in Week 1. But against a less-stacked Texans secondary, Williams may find a rhythm to put up decent numbers. This game could end with a final score of 31-20.
Bears Best Player Props: Keenan Allen Any Time Touchdown +270
Keenan Allen led the Bears in targets in Week 1, which is no coincidence. The polished veteran was traded for in the offseason to make life easier on the team’s rookie quarterback. Allen has the tools to score from anywhere on the field, and against a Texans secondary who gave up two 50+ yard passes in week one, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the former Charger end up in the endzone. If the team finds itself in a red zone situation, the 32-year-old’s elite route running could be helpful.
Texans Best Player Props: Nico Collins Any Time Touchdown +145
Nico Collins led the Texans in receiving yards in Week 1, including a big-time catch that put the game away late. The Michigan product has continued to improve each year since entering the league, and heading into his second season with Stroud under center, Houston expects big things from the wide receiver. Collins has as good of a chance as any to score his first touchdown of the year on Sunday night against the Bears.
