Prediction
The Pick: OT/OG Armand Membou
As much as I would love to see Jeanty or Hampton don the star, this year's running back class is particularly deep. Meanwhile, Martin's retirement leaves a significant hole upfront with no clear replacement. The Cowboys have always been at their best when anchored by a strong offensive line. If he's still on the board, I think Membou will be the selection.
Introduction
The Dallas Cowboys (7-10 last season) hold the 12th overall pick in Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft. With pressing needs on both sides of the ball, Jerry Jones and company will have a tough choice to make when America's Team goes on the clock.
Here are six potential first-round targets for the Cowboys — along with my prediction for who they'll ultimately select.
2025 NFL Mock Draft: Bold Predictions for Every First-Round Pick
RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State
One of the top running back prospects in recent memory, Jeanty is a dynamic playmaker with elite burst, vision, and versatility. He would immediately upgrade a Cowboys run game that has struggled mightily over the past two seasons — much like Ezekiel Elliott did as a rookie in 2016.
RB Omarion Hampton, North Carolina
Hampton brings a powerful, downhill running style that would add a much-needed physical edge to Dallas' ground game.
OT/OG Armand Membou, Missouri
Whether lining up at guard or tackle, Membou is a mauler in the trenches with the versatility the Cowboys covet. With future Hall of Famer Zack Martin having announced his retirement, Membou could be Dallas' choice to fill the void.

WR Matthew Golden, Texas
Golden is a smooth route runner with strong hands and big-play ability. He’d be an ideal complement to superstar CeeDee Lamb, adding another explosive element to the Cowboys' passing attack.
DT Kenneth Grant, Michigan
A true interior anchor, Grant's rare blend of size, strength, and mobility has drawn comparisons to elite NFL nose tackles. The 21-year-old would give new defensive coordinator Matt Eberlfus a foundational piece in the middle while helping to shore up the Cowboys' poor run defense.
DT Walter Nolen, Mississippi
While questions have been raised about his maturity and motor, Nolen’s upside is undeniable. The 21-year-old possesses elite traits—explosiveness, power, and disruptive potential—that make him one of the most intriguing defensive line prospects in the class.
