All the guys out there, whether they be in the media or just regular fans who want to use last night's game is like, uh, I told you so moment. I told you that Jalen Hurts isn't a good quarterback. I told you that the Philadelphia Eagles aren't very good with Jalen Hurts. I told you that someone else blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and you're all bat poop crazy. And here's the reality of last night's game. Eagles lose in overtime, 22-19. They dropped to 8-5. That's 3 straight losses. They're 4 and 5 in their last nine. The Chargers get a huge win, go to 9 and 4, which almost guarantees them a wild card spot and makes it very, much harder for Kansas City to actually make a run to get in. More on that later on. The focus right now has to be on the Eagles and Jalen Hurts, all right? Jalen Hurts did not play well yesterday. I, let me say it. I can't find an aspect of the game where Jalen Hurts was the better quarterback or playing a competent game of football. Except though, except though, AJ Brown, who's been a locker room cancer for the majority of this year, had not one drop, not 2 drops, not 3 drops, but 4 drops. Whether it's the very First play of the game when, uh, on a scramble play by Jalen Hurts, he sees AJ Brown and did the right thing, went yard and Jalen Hurts hits him in the fingertips and he drops the ball. Whether it's a touchdown pass with 2 minutes to go that effectively would have won them the game in the end zone, a great pass by Jalen Hurts, and once again, AJ Brown, it drops the ball. Uh, there was the pass over the middle that became the interception. Pass was a little bit high, of course, it was, but that's a catch that every wide receiver in football makes. He didn't want to get hurt. He certainly saw the linebacker or the door a cornerback coming at him was going to lay him out. So he made a business decision and the ball goes off his fingers, his hands, and into a defensive back's hands for one of Jalen Hurts's, uh, interceptions. So, are the stats good? They're not. Did Jalen play well? He did not. But if AJ Brown keeps his mouth tight and uses his hands that God blessed him with that can catch a football in the NFL, guess what? The Eagles win this game by double digits. And consider the fact that with 5 turnovers in the game yesterday, the Eagles still had the ball inside the Charger 20 on a 1st and 10 with a chance to win the game. That's how good the Eagles are. Now, let me be critical of Jalen Hurts, OK? Because Jalen Hurts did not play well. But Jalen Hurts is a damn good quarterback. And you guys all forget because he's had back to back bad games, and he's turning the ball over now in the last 2 weeks, that for the 1st 11 weeks of the season, my man had 1 interception. Like, how do you forget that? How do you forget that 10 months ago, the guy was better than Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl? You guys can't forget that. So all the nonsense out there about, oh, they should bench him, they should trade him after the season. He's not the guy. 10 months ago, he walked on water in Philadelphia. 10 months ago, you were comparing him to Michael Jordan. 10 months ago, he was the Super Bowl MVP and authored one of the great runs. In NFL history. 3 weeks ago, he had a single interception on the season, and the Eagles have been a wire to wire first-place team in the NFC East. Has he played well? No, he has not. Last night was not a good performance from Jalen Hurts, but you guys are going to act like you've never seen a Franchise quarterback have a bad game? Patrick Mahomes had 12 days ago. 3 interceptions, no touchdowns, barely over 100 yards. Are the Kansas City Chiefs considering trading Patrick Mahomes? No. Are they considering benching Patrick Mahomes? No. Are they pointing out that he had 9 drops? Yes. So how come Eagle fans aren't pointing out that AJ Brown cost the Eagles the game last night every bit as much as Jalen Hurts did. Now, here's the criticism of Jalen Hurts, Tyrone. You're an Eagle fan. Obviously, I'm gonna let you get on this in just a second, OK. The one bad pass, the pass that he could take back if he could, was the last play of the game. Because you have a 1st and 10, you're deep in charge of territory. A touchdown obviously wins the game. You're well within field goal range. You know you're going to force another possession, uh, if you make the kick and you, you stall out on that drive. And rolling to his right, that's a ball you throw away. You do not throw a ball like that, even though the ball is going right to the receiver, and it was a great play by the Chargers defensive back. If you're under pressure in that spot, a veteran quarterback, a winning quarterback throws that ball into the crowd. And let's go fight against 2nd and 10th. Period. Stop. But the, the nonsense about how Jalen Hurts suddenly isn't competent. Jalen Hurts suddenly is overrated, isn't worth the money, shouldn't be our future quarterback. You guys have gone crazy.
