Tier VI: Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt stands alone to round out the rankings, just as they do at the bottom of the SEC standings. At 2-9, the Commodores haven’t experienced a win since Week 2. And with their poor play offensively and defensively, it’s hard to see them pulling off an upset against Tennessee to end the season, but stranger things have happened.
SEC Power Ranking Tiers Week 13: Georgia on top, LSU on the Rise
The SEC is one of the toughest conferences in all of college football. Now, entering Week 13 of the season, each team is looking to finish the year off strong. However, some teams have more to play for than others. Here's how each team falls in the SEC power rankings ahead of rivalry week
Tier I: Georgia, Alabama
Like clockwork, we come back every week with the same results. Heading into Week 13, Georgia and Alabama remain in a tier of their own as the only undefeated teams in conference play. The Bulldogs are knocking on the door of another perfect 12-0 record heading into rivalry week. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide look to end things on a high note against Auburn. Then, both squads will be set for a showdown to declare which team is the real SEC champion.
Tier II: Missouri, Ole Miss, LSU
All three of these teams are coming off a win this past weekend. Missouri and Ole Miss both improved to 9-2 on the season, while the Tigers sit at 8-3. But with Jayden Daniels putting up yet another Heisman performance, LSU continues to elevate their play and dominate their competition. Each of these programs looks to be in line for one of the top bowl games, but before that, they'll look to finish the season off strong.
Tier III: Tennessee, Texas A&M
Both of these squads are coming off opposite results on the weekend. Texas A&M is coming off their second straight win where they dominated their opponent. Meanwhile, the Vols got embarrassed on their home field by the reigning National Champions. Still, both teams have a 7-4 record and have secured a season record of over .500.
Tier IV: Kentucky, South Carolina, Auburn, Florida
This tier is filled with teams in different scenarios but have the same result on the line. Kentucky and Auburn sit firm with a 6-5 record on the season, while the Gamecocks and the Gators are both fighting for their bowl eligibility next weekend with a 5-6 record. Nonetheless, all four teams could finish the season at .500.
Tier V: Arkansas, Mississippi State
Arkansas and Mississippi State have dealt with struggles on both sides of the ball this season, landing them in Tier V. With the Bulldogs 5-6 and the Razorbacks 4-7, both programs have already parted ways with their head coaches and look to change their culture moving forward. And they look to finish the season off with a win to set the tone heading into next year.
