MLB Best Bets Today: Tuesday’s Top 3-Game Parlay Picks
Leg 1: LAD-CHC Under 8.5
Where to Watch Los Angeles Dodgers vs Chicago Cubs
- Ballpark: Wrigley Field
- Location: Chicago, IL
- Where to Watch: MARQ, SportsNet LA
- Time: 7:40 p.m. ET
- Spread: LAD -1.5 | Total: 8.5
- Moneyline: LAD -120 | CHC +100
- Dodgers vs. Cubs Matchup Page
The National League features no shortage of Cy Young-caliber pitchers, but two of the best will go toe-to-toe on Tuesday night. The Chicago Cubs send Shota Imanaga to the mound to take on Dustin May and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Imanaga has been filthy to open the 2025 campaign. The southpaw has a 2.22 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP, complemented by elite advanced metrics. Thanks to his devastating curveball and sinker, Imanaga induces a 36.0% chase rate, putting him among the top 10% of MLB pitchers. Likewise, he ranks above-average in whiff rate and expected batting average.
Of course, May can compete with those metrics. The Dodgers righty has allowed just 13 baserunners across 17.0 innings pitched for a dazzling 0.76 WHIP. Most impressively, May has yet to get barreled this season while inducing a 62.2% groundball rate that will play well at Wrigley.
Offense will be in short supply on the north side of Chicago tonight. The under is our preferred play in this clash of titans.

Leg 2: TEX-ATH Over 10.5 +100
Where to Watch Texas Rangers vs The Athletics
- Ballpark: Sutter Health Park
- Location: West Sacramento, CA
- Where to Watch: MLB Network, NBCS-CA, RSN
- Time: 10:05 p.m. ET
- Spread: ATH -1.5 | Total: 10.5
- Moneyline: ATH -120 | TEX +100
- Rangers vs. Athletics Matchup Page
As we’re finding out, minor league parks are pretty advantageous venues for MLB hitters. With no upper bowl to shield the wind, balls have been mashed at Sutter Health Park. With two combustible pitchers on the mound, we could see this one soar over the total.
Osvaldo Bido’s metrics aren’t as promising as his record and ERA imply. While he’s 2-1 with a 2.61 ERA, we should see those benchmarks take a hit versus the Texas Rangers. Bido ranks in the league’s bottom half in expected ERA and batting average, relying on a 71.6% fly-ball rate to get outs. Inevitably, he will start to fall apart at home.
Still, with Patrick Corbin on the bump for the Rangers, the Athletics should have no problem keeping up. The soft-throwing righty has finished in the eighth percentile or lower in expected ERA in each of the last four seasons. He’s keeping with that trend early in 2025, producing a lackluster 5.84 mark.
The Athletics and Rangers feature top-quality bats that won’t be fooled by either pitcher. It’s a high total, but with plus money on the over, we’re betting this one eclipses 10.5 runs.
Leg 3: Padres +100
Where to Watch San Diego Padres vs Detroit Tigers
- Ballpark: Comerica Park
- Location: Detroit, MI
- Where to Watch: FDSDET, SDPA
- Time: 6:40 p.m. ET
- Spread: DET -1.5 | Total: 7.5
- Moneyline: DET -120 | SDP +100
- Padres vs. Tigers Matchup Page
The San Diego Padres and Detroit Tigers will play the second game of their three-game series. The Padres dropped the series opener, but we expect them to bounce back with another superb effort on Tuesday night.
The Padres have been one of the top-hitting teams in the bigs. Their .764 OPS ranks fourth in the MLB, thanks partly to their league-leading .274 batting average. Still, San Diego’s run production doesn’t match its effectiveness at the plate. The Padres are sitting a distant 11th in runs scored, implying that we should see a boost in scoring in the short term.
Jack Flaherty can facilitate some of that anticipated progression. The Tigers’ ace is pitching well above his expected metrics, but showed signs of falling apart last time out. Flaherty gave up three earned runs in just 4.2 innings pitched and has yet to throw a quality start this season.
The Padres feature an array of quality hitters throughout their lineup. Although their run production has been lacking, we expect them to take significant strides versus Flaherty and the Tigers. As such, we are taking them as plus-money underdogs.
