MLB Betting Guide for April 9: Is Rodon Back on Track?

All 30 MLB teams are in action today, so let’s dive into the slate and give you all the information you need to know.

Kicking off the day, the 9-2 Pittsburgh Pirates are back in action as they’ll face the Detroit Tigers after pulling out an impressive 7-4 win yesterday. Will their dominance ever slow down? Additionally in the early window, the Boston Red Sox will finally host their home opener, but will have to deal with Corbin Burnes and the Baltimore Orioles.

Moving on to the night-window, we’ll have our eyes on the matchup in the Bronx as Carlos Rodon will look to build on his strong start to the season against the lifeless Miami Marlins. For Rodon, after a disastrous start to his Yankees’ career in 2023, any resemblence of dominance this season would be a massive boost for the Yankees as they’ve already exceeded expectations even before Gerrit Cole return.

Plus, we have a couple of pitching duels early on as Zach Wheeler and Sonny Gray will battle it out in St. Louis, while Cristian Javier and Cole Ragans will square off in Kansas City.

Tyler Glasnow will take the ball for the nine-win Los Angeles Dodgers as they remain in Minnesota too, while the Atlanta Braves will look for a bounce back win tonight after they couldn’t get the job done against the New York Mets yesterday.

Later on, we’ll be looking to back an over in the altitude as the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies will face off in Coors, while the Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres will close out the night on national television after the Padres pulled off a miraculous comeback victory last night.
