MLB Betting Guide for Sept. 26: Poorly Timed Yankees’ Struggles

We have a nine-game MLB slate set for today, so let’s dive into all the action that could impact the postsesaon chase.

In the American League, the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals will be playing this afternoon as both clubs fight for the fifth or sixth seed in the AL bracket. They are both looking to fend off the Minnesota Twins, who sit two games back of both clubs, but the Twins happen to own the tiebreaker in both circumstances. The Tigers look locked into the postseason as they will host the Chicago White Sox this weekend, but the Royals hit the road for a tough series against the Atlanta Braves. The Twins will play an expected weaker version of the Baltimore Orioles, who have everything locked up. Buckle up. This is going to come down to the wire!

Atop the American League standings, the New York Yankees have dropped two straight games to the Baltimore Orioles as they have had an opportunity all week to clinch their division crown with a win. The Cleveland Guardians now sit a half-game back of the Yankees for the No. 1 seed, but luckily for the Yankees, they hold the tiebreaker over the Guardians. While it’s still fair to be excited about the Yankees heading into October, it seems as if they have already hit their peak.

In the National League, the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers continue to fight for the No. 1 seed, and the Dodgers are in action today, as they have a rubber match set with the San Diego Padres late tonight. Behind them, the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets are dealing with a hurricane mess in terms of scheduling as the final two games of their three-game set being postponed.
