MLB SGP: +1500 Boston Red Sox @ Kansas City Royals

We have a fun matchup between American League playoff hopefuls tonight: The Kansas City Royals are set to host the Boston Red Sox, prompting us to work up an ultimate same-game parlay.

Valued at +1500, let’s ride!

Leg 1: Royals ML

Whenever I get a chance to fade Brayan Bello, I take it, and it just so happens he’ll be up against one of the more reliable starting pitchers in all of baseball, Seth Lugo, tonight. Lugo is tied for the MLB lead in wins with 13 and owns the lowest ERA among qualified starting pitchers at 2.57. He isn’t too flashy, so he doesn’t get much notoriety, but he gets out, and that’s all we care about tonight. Bello isn’t someone we want to trust, so we’ll back the home team that could use a bounce-back performance after the Red Sox won the series opener last night.

Leg 2: Seth Lugo 5+ Strikeouts

Last month against the Red Sox, Seth Lugo struck out six batters across five innings of work, so to keep this simple, we expect him to deliver a similar strikeout performance with hopes that he’ll be able to go deeper into the game tonight.

Leg 3: Bobby Witt Jr. 2+ Total Bases

Bobby Witt Jr. is nothing short of a machine. He’s batting .343 on the season and .403 at home with a .708 slugging percentage. We’re relatively confident that he can get a hit against Bello, so he deserves our trust that he’ll be able to get either multiple hits or a single extra-base hit to get us two total bases.

Leg 4: Salvador Perez 1+ Hit

Salvador Perez has recorded a hit in 11 of his last 14 games, and in his brief exposure to Brayan Bello, he went 2-3 against him with a home run. We’ll back him to get us a hit in his home ballpark tonight.

Leg 5: Vinnie Pasquantino 1+ Hit

Vinnie Pasquantino is riding a nine-game hit streak and has had a hit in 15 of his last 16 games overall. He sports a .299 batting average at home and will have an optimal matchup against Bello tonight, so we’re confident he’ll get us a hit in one of his at-bats.

Leg 6: Rafael Devers 2+ Total Bases

On Boston’s side, we can’t go wrong by touting Rafael Devers to record at least two total bases, as he’s been an extra-base machine lately. He’s recorded at least two total bases in ten of his last 12 games and owns a .339 batting average against right-handed pitching. That’s good enough for me!
