The stage is set in the Bronx for Game 2 of the ALDS as the New York Yankees will meet the Kansas City Royals after the Yankees clinched the series opener in a back-and-forth battle on Saturday. Carlos Rodon gets the start for the Yankees, and Cole Ragans will make his second postseason start for the Royals, prompting us to put together an ultimate same-game parlay.

Leg 1: Royals ML
The Royals dropped Game 1 to the Yankees on Saturday night, but to say that the Royals didn’t show up wouldn’t be fair. The Royals gave the Yankees everything they could handle, setting themselves up nicely for tonight as they’ll have their number one starter on the mound in Cole Ragans. In Ragans’s Game 1 start of the Wild Card round, he put together six shutout innings, and he entered October hot as he accumulated a 1.08 ERA in four September starts. I’m rather confident that his Wild Card showing wasn’t a fluke, and I don’t trust Carlos Rodon to tame the same Royals’ bats that were all over Gerrit Cole. The Royals have the better pitcher, an underrated offense, and certainly aren’t afraid of the moment. They’ll even the series up.
Leg 2: Cole Ragans 6+ Strikeouts
Cole Ragans tossed eight strikeouts against the Orioles last week, and before that, he recorded at least six strikeouts in all four of his starts in September, including a seven-strikeout game against the Yankees. The Yankees struck out a collective 11 times in Game 1, so I trust Ragans plenty to get six, assuming he’ll be able to go the full six innings he’s expected to. If he is pulled early, our parlay is likely toast anyway.
Leg 3: Bobby Witt Jr. 2+ Total Bases
We’re still waiting for Bobby Witt Jr. to have his October moment, so tonight will be a good time, as the Royals have their backs against the wall. After he went hitless in Game 1, he’s too talented of a hitter to go without a hit in consecutive games. We know he’s an extra-base machine, so I trust he can give us a big hit tonight to help us towards that Royals ML leg.

Leg 4: Salvador Perez 1+ Hit
Salvador Perez has gone 12-26 in his career against Carlos Rodon and has recorded a hit in all three of the Royals’ postseason games. What else is there to ask for?
Leg 5: Aaron Judge 1+ Hit
Like with Bobby Witt Jr., Aaron Judge also went hitless in Game 1, and he’s far too talented of a hitter for us to expect him to go hitless in back-to-back nights. We’ll hope his hit isn’t of the extra-base variety.
