Atlantic Division 2024-24 Season Win Total Predictions | NBA Picks & Best Bets

The Atlantic Division is shaping up to be the most competitive division as all three of the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and New York Knicks have NBA championship aspirations, so here are our win total predictions for each team in the division.

Boston Celtics UNDER 58.5 Wins (-122) | Celtics Depth Chart

The Boston Celtics are the projected favorite to repeat as NBA champions after a dominant postseason run and a 64-18 regular season record. Their 2024-25 win total is 58.5, and we’ll look to play the under. Expecting the Celtics to be a 60-win is undoubtedly feasible and deserved as they return much of their roster, but things can’t break as favorably as they did last season, right? They suffered a few injuries, and everyone was on the same page, but now they are the hunted. Everyone saw the Denver Nuggets go through some rough patches as they looked to repeat last season, issues that I anticipate impacting the Celtics this season. Plus, the other Eastern Conference contenders, who happen to be in their division, all improved. I’m looking to play my entire bankroll on the under, as it’s more likely that the Celtics win 55 games than 62.

Brooklyn Nets OVER 18.5 Wins (-115) | Nets Depth Chart

Everyone is saying that the Brooklyn Nets will be the worst team in basketball this season, which is certainly possible, but I’m not ready to write them off entirely. Sure, trusting a team that wants their best player to be Ben Simmons isn’t ideal, but I do have plenty of trust in their new head coach, Jordi Fernandez, who joins the Nets as highly regarded by many. Plus, barring trades, guys like Nic Claxton, Dorian Finney-Smith, Dennis Schroder, and Cam Johnson aren’t complete scrubs. I can’t see this team winning less than 20 games, so I’ll gladly back them over at 18.5.

New York Knicks OVER 53.5 Wins (-118) | Knicks Depth Chart

Many things need to be sorted out for the New York Knicks, but Tom Thibodeau will do everything he can to get every regular season win possible. There will be no minutes restrictions, there will be no load management, and there will undoubtedly be no rest days. This Knicks team has the talent and depth to win many games, and while I assumed this line would be around 51.5, I’d lean slightly to the over at 53.5. This is a fair line so that I won’t be making a play here.

Philadelphia 76ers OVER 50.5 Wins (-104) | 76ers Depth Chart

The Philadelphia 76ers won 47 games last season, with Joel Embiid playing just 39 games, and now their win total sits at just 50.5. Make it make sense! They added Paul George, Tyrese Maxey is set to take another massive leap, rounded out their starting five, added a ton of quality depth to their bench, and Nick Nurse has another offseason of familiarity with this team. Plus, in all likelihood, Embiid will play around 50-65 games this season if we’re being realistic. All of that combined is worth more than the four wins that separate their 2023-24 win total from their current projection, so we’ll confidently back the over here.

Toronto Raptors UNDER 29.5 Wins (+100) | Raptors Depth Chart

The Toronto Raptors were winners of just 25 games last season, but what did they do this offseason for their projection to rise to 29.5? Nothing! Much trust is being placed for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and Scottie Barnes to continue to grow together, but I’m just not seeing the long-term pairing for these guys. Plus, beyond those top three players, this team lacks real talent. I don’t see much separating the Raptors with a 29.5-win projection compared to the Nets at 18.5, so I’ll undoubtedly be playing the under here at +100.
