TCU managed to fend off other programs this offseason for their star quarterback Josh Hoover as they look to compete next season. The Horned Frogs have done an excellent job stacking talent, and if they can stay healthy, they could be a sleeper team to watch. Offensively and defensively, TCU can get the job done, and they look to prove that with an added chip on their shoulder.
5 Teams Who Should Have Been Ranked in the CFB Preseason Coaches Poll
The College Football Preseason Coaches Poll has officially been released with the top 25 teams ranked according to coaches around the nation. Of the list of teams mentioned, a few top programs were left off. That said, here’s a look at five teams who missed the cut but should’ve been ranked.
1) Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma finished last season with a poor showing in nearly every aspect of the season. Offensively, the Sooners looked like a disaster, and the constant need for their defense to be on the field put them in a bad situation. Brent Venables made it a point of emphasis to turn things around this season, and he started by landing arguably the top quarterback in the transfer portal in John Mateer. Not to mention, OU added several other impact players to help their chances in 2025. Oklahoma may be the biggest snub of this entire list.
2) Missouri Tigers
After a strong 2023 campaign, Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers entered the 2024 season with high expectations. After a few bad losses, Missouri was overlooked in the race in the SEC, but they shouldn’t have been. Mizzou finished 10-3 and with a solid offseason in the portal and recruiting, the Tigers could be looking for redemption come 2025.
3) Louisville Cardinals
Louisville is another team that impressed last season and turned some heads in the ACC. Jeff Brohm has the Cardinals on the rise and they look to build on the momentum they started last season to compete for the conference championship this year.
4) Baylor Bears
Baylor has everything they need to be a top team in not only the Big 12 next season, but the entire nation. The Bears have a more than reliable quarterback in Sawyer Robertson, explosive weapons on offense, and the coaching to stay in any matchup. It won’t be shocking to see people look back on the preseason poll and wonder why Baylor was left off.
