Bulldogs Weren't Ready to Play
Kirby Smart would be the first to tell you that the Georgia Bulldogs weren't ready to play on Saturday night in Alabama from the opening kick. You would think this group would want to get up for the biggest game on their schedule this season, but they didn't seem physically or mentally prepared. The Bulldogs didn't quit in the second half and made a game of it, which says something about this group. If they had come to play on time, the result of this game might have been much different.
Turnovers Kill
Even though Carson Beck looked like a much different quarterback in the second half of the game, turnovers and unforced errors let down this group in the first half. Beck finished the game with three interceptions and a lost fumble, which won't cut it against a program with Alabama's talent. Beck can learn and bounce back from a performance like this, but seeing him struggle early on against Alabama again was disappointing.

No Answers on Defense in First Half
It was a weird first half for the Georgia Bulldogs on both sides of the football, especially defensively. The Bulldogs had no answers for a dynamic Alabama offense, and multiple chunk plays ultimately beat them. Although the defense made adjustments in the second half and limited the damage, their demise again came from a deep ball in their secondary after they took the lead. There's a lot to clean up after this loss on the big stage for the Bulldogs.

Flashes From Arian Smith
One thing that could have easily changed the momentum in this matchup is if Arian Smith had caught an early deep ball that slipped through his hands. Smith has plenty of talent, but consistency and showing up in big spots have been issues for him. Still, Smith played an important role in making this a ball game for the Bulldogs, tallying six receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown.
Secondary Had No Answers
It wasn't exactly a banner showing for the Bulldogs defense on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. I don't believe this will be unique to Georgia, but their secondary had no answers, especially against true freshman wideout Ryan Williams. Through Week 5, Williams has compiled 462 receiving yards and five touchdowns. If the Bulldogs wanted to come out on top in this matchup, they needed a better game plan for handling Williams. He isn't going anywhere soon, so the Bulldogs will have to figure this out eventually.
