No, the Michigan Wolverines don’t play today or in Week 7 of the college football season.

The Wolverines are coming off an impressive three-year run that culminated in winning the College Football National Championship last season. However, they lost many pieces from their 2024 team to the NFL, most notably head coach Jim Harbaugh and quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The cupboard isn’t bare in Ann Arbor as the Wolverines have four projected first-round picks in CB Will Johnson, TE Colston Loveland, and DTs Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant.

The three-time defending Big Ten Champs opened the season ranked No. 9 in the AP Top 25 and No. 8 in the Coaches Poll. A loss to Texas dropped the Wolverines out of the top 10, but after three-straight wins, including an upset of USC, the Maize and Blue were back to No. 10 in both polls. They suffered their second loss of the season last week at Washington to fall to 4-2 at the midpoint of the season.

Quarterback was the biggest question mark going into the season, and at the midpoint, rookie head coach Sherrone Moore still hasn’t figured things out. The Wolverines have already started Warren Davis and Alex Orji under center, with Jack Tuttle expected to get the nod next week when they return to action. They better get things figured out quickly because No. 23 Illinois, No. 3 Oregon, No. 18 Indiana, and No. 2 Ohio State remain on the schedule.
