Indianapolis has to get this win not only to clinch the division but also to finally one-up the Texans, who have had their number over the last two seasons. The Colts nearly got a win in Houston in each of the past two seasons but fell close. I wouldn't be shocked to see them take both games against their division rivals this year.

The Indianapolis Colts head into year three of the Shane Steichen era looking to earn their first postseason nod since 2020. From the "open" quarterback battle between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones, to the change at defensive coordinator, to firing Gus Bradley and hiring Lou Anarumo, all eyes are on Indy to turn things around. Here's a look at game-by-game predictions for how the Colts could fare this season in a pivotal year for both Chris Ballard and Steichen.

Week 1 - vs. Miami Dolphins
The Colts haven't won a season opener since 2013. Eventually, the streak has to come to an end. At home against the Dolphins, Indy's best odds to break the curse could be this season.

Week 2 - vs. Denver Broncos
5 Must-See NFL Revenge Games in 2025

The Colts looked poised to knock off the Denver Broncos down the stretch last season, but a late-game collapse essentially ended Indianapolis' season. Indy would like to get revenge, but it'll be hard to do that against a well-coached Broncos team that had high expectations this season.

Prediction: Broncos 31, Colts 20

Week 3 - @ Tennessee Titans
Indianapolis hasn't lost to the Tennessee Titans since Shane Steichen took over as head coach. The Colts don't always fare well against divisional opponents, but over the last couple of seasons, they've made light work of Tennessee. I expect the same to happen this season.

Prediction: Colts 23, Titans 13

Week 4 - @ Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams have home-field advantage in this matchup, and while the Colts could bring this game down to the wire, it's hard to envision them winning against a high-IQ quarterback like Matthew Stafford, at least not early in the season with a new defensive scheme.

Week 5 - vs. Las Vegas Raiders

A bounce-back game is exactly what the Colts need here, and it tends to be the trend of Steichen's Colts over the last few seasons. They win one, then lose one, and then bounce back to keep their seasons alive. I see that happening here against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Prediction: Colts 31, Raiders 20

Week 6 - vs. Arizona Cardinals
Shane Steichen vs. Jonathan Gannon will be the key matchup in this battle. Both former Philadelphia Eagles coordinators used to scheme together; now they lead their squads into battle against one another. For this matchup, I like Steichen's odds to beat the Arizona Cardinals.

Prediction: Colts 27, Cardinals 17

Week 7 - @ Los Angeles Chargers
The Colts will have their hands full against a Jim Harbaugh-led Los Angeles Chargers team in this matchup. Although it could go either way, Indy will keep it close to get fans optimistic, but likely collapse down the stretch.

Prediction: Chargers 23, Colts 16

Week 8 - vs. Tennessee Titans
Against the Titans again, I like the odds that the Colts win the season series 2-0.

Prediction: Colts 30, Titans 24

Week 9 - @ Pittsburgh Steelers
At the moment, this game is hard to predict with Pittsburgh's mystery at QB still unsolved. However, against Mike Tomlin, on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the odds don't seem to be stacked in the Colts' favor. I'll give the nod to the Steelers to win an ugly defensive matchup.

Prediction: Steelers 17, Colts 13

Week 10 - vs. Atlanta Falcons (Berlin)

In an international matchup, neither team will have a true home-field advantage. Comparing the personnel on both sides, the matchup comes down to whichever quarterback leads the offense the best and which head coach puts together the best game plan. Although it could go either way, Steichen seems to win these matchups.

Prediction: Colts 27, Falcons 23

Week 12 - @ Kansas City Chiefs
Best NFL Game Each Week

Patrick Mahomes shockingly doesn't have the success you'd expect him to have against the Colts throughout his career, sitting at 0-2 in the regular season. Fresh off a bye week, Indy should have the juice to keep Mahomes' winless streak alive, but it's hard to bet against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Prediction: Colts 27, Chiefs 23

Week 13 - vs. Houston Texans
2025 NFL Strength of Schedules

Indianapolis lost both games to the Houston Texans last season, but both matchups came down to the wire. In a game of margins, the Colts' struggling defense always seemed to be the death of them against Houston. However, this season, I like the odds that Anarumo's scheme switch could help Indy get back on the winning side.

Prediction: Colts 23, Texans 17

Week 14 - @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Cowboys Week-to-Week Predictions

The Colts haven't won a game in Jacksonville since 2014. Although the streak has to end at some point, there's no way they end it and the Week 1 streak in the same season. Stranger things have happened, but the realist in me says Indy falls in Duval.

Prediction: Jaguars 27, Colts 20

Best NFL Betting Angles of 2025

The Colts fell to Sam Darnold last season, but it wasn't because of anything special he did on offense. In fact, it was one of the quarterback's worst games of his breakout season. I like the chance that Indianapolis goes on the road and steals this game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Prediction: Colts 31, Seahawks 24

Week 16 - vs. San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers and Colts haven't matched up since 2021, but in that battle, Indy stole a win in Levi's Stadium with a 30-18 final. San Francisco looks like a completely different team after their offseason, and it's hard to judge how they'll look this year. Indy could shock Kyle Shanahan again this time around, but it's not something I'd bet on happening at this very moment.

Against the Jaguars at home, Indy has to not only get this win to keep their postseason hopes alive, but also refrain from losing both games against their division rival. I think they get the job done.
