32. Brian Callahan - Tennessee Titans
It's going to take some time for rookie head coach Brian Callahan to find his place in the NFL. We know the types of offensive schemes that he can bring to the table, which should prove valuable in Tennessee. Still, we need to see how he can actually coach a team, and that's going to determine how far up this list he can ultimately climb.

1. Andy Reid - Kansas City Chiefs
Andy Reid has aged like fine wine as an NFL head coach. As it stands, Reid has already paved his way to the NFL Hall of Fame. Reid can game plan about as well as any head coach in the league, and he's still doing so at an elite level for the Kansas City Chiefs.
2. Kyle Shanahan - San Francisco 49ers
Even though he's yet to win the big one as a head coach, Kyle Shanahan's record speaks for itself. Shanahan should have the San Francisco 49ers right back in the mix again in 2024 with his strong offensive instincts and play calling.
3. Sean McVay - Los Angeles Rams
It's hard to overlook the success that Sean McVay has had as the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams. In a year with no expectations, McVay helped lead the Rams back into the postseason. With McVay leading the charge again, anything is possible in LA.
4. John Harbaugh - Baltimore Ravens
John Harbaugh has a clean track record as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens. Despite his only Super Bowl victory coming over a decade ago, Harbaugh remains one of the top head coaches in the league. Another Lombardi trophy could elevate his status on this list.
5. Mike Tomlin - Pittsburgh Steelers
It's impossible to not be impressed with what Mike Tomlin has continued to do with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tomlin has led the Steelers to 17 straight non-losing seasons, which has him sitting third in the history books behind only Bill Belichick and Tom Landry.

6. Dan Campbell - Detroit Lions
Some might have a beef with where we're slotting Dan Campbell at this stage in his career. We'll counter that by saying any head coach that can help turn around the Detroit Lions deserves a spot this high on our list.
7. Matt LaFleur - Green Bay Packers
Some initially questioned whether Matt LaFleur has what it takes to be a successful NFL head coach. Those people look silly now. LaFleur has posted a 56-27 record as Green Bay's head coach. A big reason many continue to be bullish about the state of the Packers revolves around LaFleur.
8. Jim Harbaugh - Los Angeles Chargers
Jim Harbaugh is back in the NFL after winning a national championship at Michigan. Some may question his ranking on our list, but don't forget that he's posted a 44-19-1 career record as an NFL head coach. Will he help turn around the Los Angeles Chargers?
9. Sean McDermott - Buffalo Bills
We're still waiting for Sean McDermott to lead the Buffalo Bills to the Super Bowl. In a daunting AFC, it's no surprise that's taken longer than expected. Still, for McDermott to rise on this list, he needs to lead the Bills to more postseason success.
10. Mike McDaniel - Miami Dolphins
The weapons on offense in Miami speak for themselves, but a big reason they've found the cohesion needed to find success is their head coach Mike McDaniel. McDaniel is one of the brightest offensive minds in football, which earns him a spot to close out our top ten.
11. Kevin Stefanski - Cleveland Browns
Kevin Stefanski has done a lot of nice things in his four seasons as head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Still, until the Browns go deep in January, it's hard to see Stefanski climbing this list inside the top 10.
12. DeMeco Ryans - Houston Texans
DeMeco Ryans popped as a first-year head coach with the Houston Texans in 2023. With one of the NFL's hardest schedules in 2024, it will be very telling how Ryans and the rest of the Texans respond.
13. Kevin O'Connell - Minnesota Vikings
Kevin O'Connell is ready for Year 3 on the job as Minnesota Vikings head coach. Considering the overall circumstances he's been dealt, it's pretty easy to get excited about what he'll be capable of when this roster turns the corner.
14. Nick Sirianni - Philadelphia Eagles
It's easy to be critical about how last season played out for Nick Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles. In saying that, there's still been some real success for the Eagles of late, and Sirianni certainly deserves some of the credit for that.
15. Zac Taylor - Cincinnati Bengals
It's been a mixed bag to this point during Zac Taylor's head coaching stint with the Cincinnati Bengals. A lot of that can be credited to injuries and lack of talent on the roster, but the Bengals are set up nicely in 2024 and it will be telling how Taylor responds.
16. Doug Pederson - Jacksonville Jaguars
Doug Pederson won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, and has similar aspirations with the Jacksonville Jaguars. It'll be a more challenging endeavor with the Jaguars, but there's still a lot to like about what Pederson brings to the table as a bench boss.
17. Sean Payton - Denver Broncos
Sean Payton has a Super Bowl ring to his name, which certainly means something in the head coaching world of the NFL. Payton will be an interesting name to follow this season. Can he help lead the turnaround in Denver? It's certainly something we'll be watching closely in 2024.
18. Mike McCarthy - Dallas Cowboys
Despite having some postseason failures, including last year against his former team in Green Bay, Mike McCarthy remains a solid head coach in the NFL. There's certainly been some questionable decisions made by McCarthy in the past, but he likely gets a little too much pushback for being the head coach in Dallas.
19. Shane Steichen - Indianapolis Colts
Even though Shane Steichen and the Indianapolis Colts fell short of the postseason last year, the first-year head coach made quite the lasting impression. When you lose your starting quarterback early in the season and still manage a record over .500, that certainly puts more eyeballs in your direction.
20. Todd Bowles - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Todd Bowles got the hang of things last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Will Bowles be able to lead them back to another NFC South crown? He'll have a tough task ahead of him with an improved Atlanta team, but Bowles showed us something last year that we'd yet to see in his coaching arsenal.
21. Raheem Morris - Atlanta Falcons
It became quite clear at the end of the hiring process that the Atlanta Falcons coveted Raheem Morris for their open head coaching gig. With the right mix of coaches surrounding him, Morris should be able to find more success than he did the first time around as a head coach.
22. Dan Quinn - Washington Commanders
Dan Quinn is a football guy through and through. He's back leading the charge for an NFL team in 2024 after being hired as the head coach of the Washington Commanders. It will be interesting to see if he's able to implement some of the things he's learned over the years as a coordinator.
23. Brian Daboll - New York Giants
It's been a mixed bag to this point during Brian Daboll's tenure as New York Giants head coach. We have yet to really see the Giants have a competent quarterback with Daboll at the helm. As a result, it's difficult to fully judge what his ceiling is as a head coach.
24. Dave Canales - Carolina Panthers
Dave Canales represents a trend of young, hot shot offensive coordinators that continue to get opportunities as a head coach. We saw what Canales did to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense last season to earn this gig. Will he have the same effect on a young Carolina Panthers in 2024?
25. Mike Macdonald - Seattle Seahawks
It's pretty easy to get excited about what Mike Macdonald brings to the table as a head coach from a defensive standpoint. All signs indicate he also surrounded himself with some nice offensive coaches to balance things out. As a result, the Seattle Seahawks could really pop as a team in the NFC this season.
26. Robert Saleh - New York Jets
It's not exactly difficult to argue that Robert Saleh would be much higher on this list if he'd gotten any sort of competent quarterback play throughout his tenure. Saleh has continued to make great defenses in New York, and it won't be a surprise if he sky rockets up this list if the Jets contend in the AFC like many expect.

27. Antonio Pierce - Las Vegas Raiders
Antonio Pierce gave us a nice little sample of how he can manage as a head coach in the NFL last season with the Las Vegas Raiders. After getting the full-time job this offseason, let's see what Pierce can do with an entire offseason to game plan. Pierce's motivational tactics appear to be one reason he went 5-4 last season in his first stint. Will Pierce make the Raiders one of the more difficult teams to play against in the NFL?
28. Jonathan Gannon - Arizona Cardinals
We're about to really see what Jonathan Gannon can do offensively with a healthy roster, and plenty of weapons at his disposal. Sure, the Cardinals still need better personnel on defense, but Gannon's bread and butter was scheming on that side of the football. Let's see if he can really execute this season in Arizona on both sides of the football.
29. Dennis Allen - New Orleans Saints
It's hard to get a full read on what Dennis Allen is as an NFL head coach. He hasn't exactly been giving the type of rosters that Sean Payton had, which might make you pause when considering what he can be as a head coach. Still, at some point, you have to coach up your football team to a higher level, and we're still waiting for that from Allen, talent or not.
30. Jerod Mayo - New England Patriots
Jerod Mayo kicked off his NFL head coaching debut with a big upset on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals. If Mayo can continue to get that type of buy in from his team on a weekly basis, the New England Patriots might just have their head coach of the future. There's a lot to like about how he profiles defensively, and it'll be telling what he can bring to the table offensively, too.
31. Matt Eberflus - Chicago Bears
There's no doubt that is is a make it or break it season with the Chicago Bears for head coach Matt Eberflus. There are no more swords to die on with this team, he either puts it together and proves he can be a competent head coach, or he'll be on his way out. It's time to see what he's made of with the best roster he's had during his tenure.
