Limit Ladd McConkey's impact
With Brock Bowers going down, the next man up in terms of consistent playmakers for the Bulldogs is Ladd McConkey. The shifty receiver has only one touchdown on the year, but on any given day, he could easily be a defense's worst nightmare. If the Rebels can take McConkey out of the game, Georgia will have to find another way to beat Ole Miss offensively.
How Ole Miss Can Upset Georgia: 5 Keys to Victory
Ole Miss has been one of the toughest SEC teams this season. They'll look to prove that on Saturday against Georgia. With two talented teams set to collide in an in-conference showdown, here are five keys to victory for the Rebels,
Get Jaxson Dart going
Jaxson Dart has been the focal point of this offense this season. The junior standout is having his most efficient season to date and has been a large reason for the Rebels' success this year. With the weapons surrounding Dart, they’ll need their leader to put the offense in position to score, which he’s more than capable of doing every time he steps on the field.
Force Carson Beck to beat them
While Carson Beck is more than a serviceable quarterback in the Bulldogs offense, he doesn’t bring that explosive threat that they’ve had in years past. If Ole Miss can take away Georgia’s other sources of offense and force Beck to beat them, the Rebels could force a battle that favors them.
Establish the running game early
If the Rebels want to set the tone, they’ll need to get their running game going early. With Quinshon Judkins manning the backfield, Ole Miss will need their sophomore running back to make his presence known. The Bulldogs' defensive line hasn’t been as dominant as years past with guys like Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter up front, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t a scary unit. If Judkins and the Rebels get the rushing attack going early, it’ll only benefit Dart more.
Match Georgia’s physicality
More times than not, Georgia will be the most physical team in every matchup they’re in. For Ole Miss, the last thing they can do is allow that in this battle. Lane Kiffin’s squad will need to set the tone. If they can match Georgia’s physicality, they can put themselves in a position to upset the Bulldogs.
