How the Steelers Can Beat the Patriots: 5 Keys to Victory in Week 14

Tomlin has the Team Ready
The Steelers had a great opportunity to capitalize last week against a struggling Arizona Cardinals team and were unable to do so. There was a lot of chatter about the Steelers taking the Cardinals lightly, and that can't happen in this short week against the New England Patriots. Head coach Mike Tomlin has to have his squad ready to go and motivated tonight. If he does, the talent gap between these two AFC clubs should be evident.
No Turnovers From Trubisky
With Kenny Pickett sidelined, the Steelers need Mitch Trubisky to play with the same mentality. Don't turn the football over. The Steelers offense isn't good enough to survive points off turnovers, especially against a Patriots team that struggles offensively to begin with.
Jaylen Warren Has Multiple Explosive Plays
With Najee Harris questionable to play tonight, Jaylen Warren may see the bulk of the carries, even if Harris suits up. Harris has proven valuable to the Steelers in the second half of the year, but Warren is still the more explosive back of the two. Whether it's in the passing game or on the ground, the Steelers need to get Warren involved early and often.
T.J. Watt Does T.J. Watt Things
T.J. Watt was in the headlines this week, and he has some rightful gripes with how officials have been calling plays surrounding him. Watt is one of the top defensive players in the NFL, and he can help you win a game on his own. With everything we've seen transpire around the Steelers and Watt to kick off December, don't be surprised if he has a statement performance tonight. Watt's ability alone is a major key for Pittsburgh against a struggling Patriots offense.
Get Points off a Turnover
With the Steelers struggling on offense and there being some question marks about what to expect from Trubisky at quarterback, the offense might need some help tonight. Minkah Fitzpatrick is playing his second game back from injury, and his impact needs to be felt more in the secondary, even if he's playing with a broken hand now. If the Steelers' defense can create turnovers and give their offense better field position, we like their chances more tonight.
