With much of San Diego bracing for a tropical storm, the San Diego State Aztecs couldn’t handle a gale-force passing game in a 66-14 loss to the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday evening at Reser Stadium. For SDSU (2-4, 1-1 Pac-12), what appeared to be a nightmare matchup ended up coming to life, as the top-ranked Beavers (4-2, 2-0) passing attack executed at will. Meanwhile the struggling Aztecs offense couldn’t stay on the field, going without a first down on a drive seven times, leaving the defense with little time to rest or ability to generate a pass rush.Senior wide receiver Jacob Bostick caught an 11-yard touchdown pass and sophomore wide receiver Jaylon Hawkins returned a kick 97 yards for his third return touchdown of the season in addition to catching the longest play of the season for SDSU on a 42-yard connection.

San Diego State dominated by Oregon State, allow most points since 2008

For as much as October puts San Diego sports fans minds may be on the diamonds, San Diego State made a compelling case to make sure that folks are still paying attention to the gridiron. Trailing by 14 points at halftime, the Aztecs (2-3, 1-0 Pac-12) rallied to match the program's fourth-largest second half comeback in a 31-29 win over the Texas State Bobcats (2-3, 0-1) on Saturday night at Snapdragon Stadium. Here are three standout points to take from San Diego State’s second win of 2026

Spear Points: 3 Takeaways from Aztecs’ wild Pac-12 opening win over Texas State

The good for the San Diego State Aztecs? They broke their first half shutout stretch on their opening drive. The bad? A 41-16 loss to the Toledo Rockets on Saturday afternoon at the Glass Bowl. The ugly — a re-aggravated injury to senior captain running back Lucky Sutton as well as an injury to running back Javion Kinnard on his only drive for a rushing attack that managed only 15 yards on the 11 carries between the duo and 48 yards overall.

10 Most Overrated Teams in College Football Going Into Week 4

For the second week in a row, the San Diego State Aztecs were held scoreless in the opening half, losing their non-conference showdown with James Madison 26-13 on Saturday night at Snapdragon Stadium.Running back Javion Kinnard carried 33 times for 181 yards with a rushing touchdown for the Aztecs (1-2), while Jayden Denegal passed for 209 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. JMU (3-0) quarterback Camden Coleman threw for 246 yards with two touchdowns, while also rushing for one and tight end Cole Keller caught both the scoring strikes.

Seeing Red: SDSU can't get offense in gear, get beat by James Madison

Through the first 30 minutes of San Diego State’s eventual 28-10 loss at UCLA on Saturday, the Aztecs were able to hold their own in a rock fight against a Bruins side coming off a 45-point performance up in Berkeley. In it until the untimely interception on Jayden Denegal’s floated screen pass to Javion Kinnard on a third-and-12 around the SDSU 20-yard-line, then subsequent UCLA scoring drive, the margins at which the Scarlet and Black tried to win on proved too thin. Here are three takeaways from the Aztecs first loss of 2026:
