The Golden Bears delivered a statement of their own by taking down No. 15 Stanford in convincing fashion. Friday’s opener was a rout — Cal cruised to a 13-3 run-rule victory behind an early offensive explosion and a sharp start from Ian Turkington.

Vanderbilt sent a message this weekend: they're still elite. After a rocky start to SEC play, the Commodores responded with a three-game sweep of Texas A&M in Nashville.

Game 1 belonged to Connor Fennell and Jacob Humphrey. Fennell struck out eight in 3.2 innings during his first career start, and Humphrey's three-run blast in the third powered a 5-3 win. Braden Holcomb added three hits, and Sawyer Hawks threw four innings of dominant relief.

Saturday’s game was about pitching again — JD Thompson was electric, striking out 10 and giving up just one run in a 3-1 win. Sunday brought fireworks. Trailing by one in the seventh, Vanderbilt exploded for six runs to pull out an 8-5 victory.
