MLB Betting Guide for August 30: September Chaos Awaits

We have a full-slate of baseball set for you tonight, so as the final stretch of the season nears with September right around the corner, here’s everything you need to know for the night ahead.

In the American League, the New York Yankees sit atop the standings. Still, they didn’t capitalize this week on the struggles of the Baltimore Orioles as both teams lost two of three in their respective series, where the Yankees had a much easier matchup against the Washington Nationals. Just 1.5 games separate the two clubs, but much time remains! Behind them, the Cleveland Guardians are narrowly holding on to the AL Central lead from the Kansas City Royals as the Royals have a tough weekend against the AL West-leading Houston Astros.

Over in the National League, this weekend is highlighted by a huge matchup in South Philly. The Philadelphia Phillies are set to host the Atlanta Braves, which kicked off last night when the Phillies rallied for a comeback win. Behind them, the New York Mets are actively rooting for the Phillies as they’re hoping to steal the Atlanta Braves’ third wild card spot because it doesn’t appear like the San Diego Padres nor Arizona Diamondbacks will be giving up their wild card positions any time soon. The D-Backs, though, have a significant weekend series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, as with a series win, they could set their sights on the NL West crown.
