We have a fun NL West battle tonight as the Los Angeles Dodgers will be on the road to face the Arizona Diamondbacks, prompting us to work up an ultimate same-game parlay.
Valued at +850, let’s ride!
Leg 1: Diamondbacks ML
The D-Backs are narrow underdogs at home tonight, with their ace taking the mound in Zac Gallen, and the D-Backs have won six of their last seven games where Gallen pitches. The Dodgers will be throwing out Clayton Kershaw, who doesn’t appear like the ace he once was, so we’re confident that the D-Backs bats will get hot at home. After losing two of three to the New York Mets this week, we expect the D-Backs to come into tonight motivated as they have their sights set on the NL West crown, so we’ll take them on the money line to get the job done.
Leg 2: Zac Gallen 5+ Strikeouts
To keep this simple, our D-Backs’ ML leg has little chance of hitting if we don’t get a long outing from Zac Gallen. We’ll need his best and some tonight. If he goes for at least six innings like we’re hoping him to, he’ll have every opportunity to reach the five-strikeout threshold. Earlier this year, he struck out four Dodgers in just four innings of work, so we hope to get another inning or two out of him tonight.
Leg 3: Lourdes Gurriel 1+ Hit
Lourdes Gurriel has had a strong August, posting a .311 batting average. However, this season, he’s been crushing left-handed pitching, hitting .336 against them compared to just .248 on the road.
Leg 4: Josh Bell 1+ Hit
I don’t know what it is, but Josh Bell always gets a hit whenever I watch him play. It’s like clockwork. As a bonus, he’s had a hit in six of his last seven games leading tonight, so we’ll count on him to continue being a reliable bat in the middle of the order.
Leg 5: Jake McCarthy 1+ Hit
Jake McCarthy has been one of the league’s most underrated hitters all season, and despite being a left-handed hitter himself, he’s posted a .327 batting average against left-handed pitchers. With a .302 batting average in August, we’re fully confident in his ability to get a hit.
Leg 6: Mookie Betts
On the Dodgers’ side, we’re eyeing up Mookie Betts to get a hit, as he’s recorded a hit in 12 of 15 games where he’s started since returning from the IL. As one of the league’s most gifted hitters, we can’t go wrong by backing him in any setting.
