Updated 2024 AL MVP Odds
With the trade deadline finished and the 2024 MLB season entering the stretch run, here’s a look at the latest odds for the American League MVP.
Aaron Judge (-1100)
Aaron Judge needs to maintain his health, but if he does, it's difficult to see him not securing his second AL MVP in three years. Presently, he tops the charts in home runs (41), RBIs (104), walks (95), on-base percentage (.459), slugging percentage (.698), and OPS (1.158).
The primary intrigue lies in whether he can surpass his own AL single-season home run record of 62, established in 2022.
Bobby Witt Jr. (+500)
If Bobby Witt Jr. were in the NL, he'd likely be the frontrunner for MVP. However, he's competing against Aaron Judge, who is currently experiencing one of the most impressive power-hitting periods in MLB history.
Nonetheless, Witt leads the league with the highest batting average (.349), most hits (162), runs (99), total bases (281), and fWAR (8.1). Should Judge falter, Witt is poised to claim the AL MVP. Even if he doesn't, the 24-year-old is expected to consistently contend for the award in the years to come.

Gunnar Henderson (+1600)
Gunnar Henderson, not Witt, was the starting shortstop for the AL in the All-Star Game, a position he likely earned.
However, following his participation in the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game, Henderson has managed only one home run and an .795 OPS. Before the break, in 95 games, he hit 28 home runs and had a .956 OPS.
Juan Soto (+2500)
If Aaron Judge is today's equivalent of Barry Bonds, then Juan Soto is akin to Jeff Kent. While Kent clinched the NL MVP in 2000 and Soto hasn't yet won one, it's likely that Soto will end up with a more distinguished career.
Soto may not secure the AL MVP this year, but he's poised to place sixth or better for the fourth time in his relatively short career. Moreover, he's set to earn a substantial payday this offseason, irrespective of his MVP standing.
