The Golden State Warriors have ruled out Stephen Curry for tonight’s matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a peroneal sprain in his lower left leg. The team has stated that they’ll re-evaluate Curry’s status this Friday, ruling him out for tonight’s contest, Wednesday night’s game, and against the Pelicans. However, the expectation is that Curry could miss several games.
The Injury: How Curry Got Hurt?
Curry initially suffered the injury late in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the LA Clippers, where the All-Star guard awkwardly planted his foot while navigating a screen. Curry stayed in the game at the time, where he later aggravated the injury early in the fourth quarter as he attempted to set a screen for Moses Moody.

When Will Curry Return to the Court?
Despite already being ruled out for games tonight and Wednesday, the Warriors will re-evaluate Curry on Friday to see how much longer he’ll need to remain sidelined. Golden State will hit the road on Saturday for a five-game road trip with stops in Houston, Washington, Boston, Cleveland, and Oklahoma City.
How Will Golden State Manage in the Meantime?
Expect Steve Kerr to use Draymond Green more as an on-ball facilitator during Curry’s absence, but also look for Buddy Hield, Brandin Podziemski, Gary Payton II, and Moses Moody to see their minutes increase.
